I was searching for a vendor review section and was unable to find it, if I've placed this post in the wrong section, my apologies.

Short Story:

Just wanted to send out a Thankyou to Bryan Howell from Diesel Performance Products, Parts, BD & Cummins Diesel Performance as we hear lots of horror stories, but rarely happy stories. Bryan went out of his way to let me know the situation of my order, and to accommodate me in any way he could. I am super pleased with his service and will purchase from him again.

Long Story:

After trolling around on the forum for awhile I discovered that the paper filter seemed to be one of the most restrictive elements in the stock intake, and the Amsoil Nano filter was recommended in several situations. I spent some time on Amsoils website and decided instead of buying the preferred customer program again, which in turn would result in me buying more fluids than I knew what to do with(in order to justify the membership, and the it's so much cheaper when you buy bulk... ) I decided to be lazy and try to find the filter somewhere other than through Amsoil. (I was also confused as to which sku applied to my truck. ) While I was trolling I had seen posts from a vendor with a link below the avatar so I decided to check it out. I had already purchased the Cool Blue Hose from DPP and have been super happy with increased turbo noise, and turbo response, so after checking the TDR advertisers page and seeing them as a supporter I decided to order from DPP. Site layout is fine, placed the online order with 3 day shipping. (I used to work in a shipping receiving department and ground deliveries only were a concern when everything else was done, so I default to 3 day) I was excited to have it for the following weekend as I could check mileage difference since I was supposed to make a common trip from San Luis Obispo to Santa Cruz. Printed my receipt and went to bed.

I'm not sure if it was Monday or Tues but I received a phone call from Bryan @ DPP, stating that the filters were on backorder for him but he had been searching for one for me and wanted to know if I wanted to change the order as I had selected 3 day select shipping.

I was in complete awe by this. First that I received a phone call to let me know an item was unavailable, second the vendor was actually going out of his way to help me. I told Bryan that it was not a life or death situation, if a filter surfaced that would be awesome, but I could live without it. I was bummed as I love cheap and easy mods, but went about my day. Then on Wednesday I received and email from UPS letting me know that my package was in transit and should be here by Thursday. !!! Ha, no way. But there it was, next day air and on my doorstep.

So thankyou Bryan for going out of your way (or having nothing better to do) to get me the filter on time, I greatly appreciate it, and will shop with DPP again. Plus there's a TDR discount! Which I didn't know about.

I've had the Amsoil nanofiber stock airbox replacement filter in my truck for about two weeks now, and have to say I am very pleased with the results. The last couple weeks California has been seeing on and off rain dumps and I just pulled the filter out and it appears new. I have been unable to record any improvement in fuel mileage as I installed the filter about 2 days after I removed my muffler and added the Geno's muffler elimination kit. In translation, I drive around with the window's down in most conditions just so I can listen to the exhaust as it bounces off of objects and the sound at WOT has never been sweeter.

Have you done the "home depot airbox mod" or if you like a more professional look the psm buick air box mod yet. Bryan sells them too. With the Home depot mod I just sucked my air cleaner full of snow. If I had my gauges in this would have been noticed right away. A piece of panty hose over the hole probably would have kept the snow out or maybe it sucked it in the fender too.

Bryan Howell@Diesel Power Products

I vouch too for Bryan Howell. I ordered a PSM which was backordered but was shipped promptly. I'm waiting on a "cool black hose" which is backordered, and Bryan offered to loan me a red one until the black ones came in. Good guy!

This is my first post to TDR. I have been lurking on this site for a couple of years now. This is the first time I have felt it necessary to post. I have done business with Brian several times and have found the experience to be first rate each time. It is good to know there are some out there who still believe in customer service.

I recently purchased a Smarty from Brian which he did not have in stock at the time. He was willing to send me his until he received a new unit just so I could try it out. I opted to wait for a new unit but the offer meant a lot. I have several mods planned for my truck since I have recently exceeded 100,000 and my money will be going to Brian to get them. Thanks Brian and thanks to this site for all the useful info I have been able to gain about my favorite possession my truck.

I did a similar mod to my tacoma years back called the "deckplate" mod, I considered doing something similiar but I think I'm going to leave my airbox alone for the time being. My current focus has turned to gauges, or airbags. I'm voting on the gauges as it's bugging me not knowing for sure what my egt's are when I shut down. My dilemma is that I still have a boost/vac, and egt gauge left over from the tacoma mentioned above, and dont know wether to get a transmission temp guage to match those two, or to match the white face in the truck already.

Glad to hear so many others have had a great experience with Bryan. This is the kind of service that is going to make the difference business to business.

Thanks

Thanks guys. We are a small fish in a big pond and knowing that customer service really means something makes it all worthwhile. The TDR community has been very good to us and it is greatly appreciated. Now if those darn Cool Hoses would just show up... ...

To me, in this day and age, Customer Service is the MOST important thing to me and I will happily pay more for a product with great service people.

I agree i ordered several items from Bryan after talking to him on the phone i purchased a Smarty jr, 5 inch diamond eye cat back and a psm air intake what a differencehe could have sold me pretty much anything & i believe he saved me alot of money by recomending these items. I will buy from Bryan again no doubt

Cool Black Hoses In!

Bryan called me yesterday to inform me that the cbh's were in and if I still wanted one. I replied " sure",we chatted for a spell and all is well. Nice guy!

id also like to thank Bryan at DPP, got me my cool "red" hose and the PSM intake mod at a great price and is so great to deal with. He even treats people that pester him with questions for DAYS befor they order! thanks alot!

This is a HUGE comfort!!! I love reading stories about vendors who give a crap about customers and customer service. Bryan, you ethics are right in line with what I'm looking for, and I can guarantee you my business, when the cash starts flowing again; my house has been on the market for a year now in Maryland, and I'm paying for a house in Texas too

Now the question is, and I haven't looked at your website, do you carry Quadzilla's products? If you do, that would be even sweeter.

I'm here to answer questions. You can ask all you want. I'm just happy to have your business. If I can't answer them hopefully I can send you in the right direction.
