Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) That old slipery slop.

I couldn't stand letting my old set of Mach 1. 5's sit on the shelf in my garage any longer. Yesterday I swapped out my presumably stock sticks for the 1. 5's. A little bigger puff of soot at gear shift but oh that's a nice boost to the throttle response. Smarty really likes sticks! So this is the third time I've swapped sticks & I still haven't figured out a good quick way to get the valve cover off. What's the trick I'm missing?

Thanks Bob. I really liked the power in my last ride, so I figure this is an interim step. Next is project Lazarus. Stripping the bent body off the old truck & replacing it with the one from my current ride. Fortunatly, I'm not the main wrench on the job. I hopw we haven't gotten in over our heads on this one. :-laf
