Cerb is no fun, he is too practical:-laf

I don't think you would want to mess the the transmission thats why I mentioned the remote mount. It hangs tho so you would need the mounts off the donor truck, no need for the regular crossmember. The tunnel should be the same with a manual transmission. An NP203 might be even better than the 205. Since he won't need the front output, just cut the hangy downy part off, weld a plate over the opening and have your ground clearance. The 203 has the low range box bolted to the top of the main case so you could do away with most of it. A 11. 26 1st and reverse gear would be cool:D

I like that. That will be pretty cost effective as well.

You would not be "*******izing" the truck either, it could be returned to dead stock very easily. Just don't chop up the stock driveline and throw in the corner of the garage instead.

Must of not been on this site... . maybe cummins forum. Full timer with a 2wd 3rd gen found a shop that had done quite a few transfer case additons using the stock 4x4 arrangement. Reportedly worked really well for him and he used it whenever the going was tough or slow. If I remember correctly he also had an ats 68 with copilot and sounded very pleased.

Like Rusty, my clutch tends to chatter a lot when backing our 5er into uphill spots - sure wish reverse was geared as low as 1st gear in the NV5600...

A "Brownie" type O/U box mounted back at the center support sure would be a nice option...

Bill; harrison root here in Beaumont. are you getting rain today(4-27-13)? we are getting some here. hope GOD gives us at least one inch. my 2001 4x4 is now my favorite of all the trucks i have owned.
