ph question was would that cause the pump to not work! Anyone know the answer to that? Seems it would, as it would not receive a signal from the ECM to run! SNOKING

Snoking
That's my question exactly. I've been concerned about all of the above mentioned hazards (heat, vibration, cramped physical location of the wire, etc.) causing the wire to seperate ever since I installed the Comp many years ago. Unfounded concern? Probably. Just something Threewolves might check. ph

Dunno about the 98's, but at least on my '02, there would at the very least be trouble codes set and check engine lights lit, and engine at very least would poorly driveable - I seriously doubt all would appear normal if the wire was completely severed.

Otherwise, a simple VOM continuity check from each side of the connector point would show if the wire was intact. You can do that by using a pair of needles or pins on each side of that point, piercing the outer insulation to the inner conductor to take a meter reading.

Gary K,

Nice wiring and pictures thanks, looks like something else to do. \
Working is sucking up to much of my time, the necessary evil.
I am thinking I am going to go with the pump from Through bread Diesel, it has new electric and 18 month warrantee, but first a fuel pressure gauge and a new fuel pump. Thanks everyone.
