Gold PLATED? For a hundred and fifty bucks, that SOB better be gold through and through... not just plated. Although that would present problems with the heat these pumps can see... that spring might lose it's "spring". Titanium, however, might hold up, and fetch a fair price... although thats generally used for light-weight applications, and I'm not sure how much weight you'd need to shave off of a tiny little spring thats only an inch long... . Diamond? Wouldn't make for much of a "spring" though.



The logical explaination, is that this particular spring has been blessed by the Pope, autographed by Axl Rose, and was once featured on an episode of Melrose Place... . either that or the price of steel went through the roof overnight... . in which case, I'm a millionaire.

This is the definition of "highway robbery" at it's finest. Cummins sells the spring to end users for about $16. Just to make it easy, we'll say these diesel shops get it at a quantity buy discounted price of $15, meaning they're making 1000% profit. I sincerely hope this is just a mathematical error or typo on their part and they're not really attempting to carry out this fraud on unsuspecting diesel newbies. I feel bad for anyone who falls for this, and hopefully they will do their research prior to purchasing.

I called them to ask if it was a mistake and told him the item was for sale from other vendors for much cheaper. The gentleman was very nice, apologized and stated they that they were discontinuing the item and promptly removed it from the website.
