Went to the dealer today as Vol 2 of the shop manual finally arrived. Looked at a 2002 1500 4 Door. I think my Quad Cab has almost as much room in the rear. I did not like the front end treatment or the grille. I am glad I got a 2001. JMO;)

I sat in one the other day and thought the rear seat room was considerably better. At first it didn't seem great, but then I noticed the front seats were back as far as possible. My legs on this 5'10" body couldn't hardly touch the pedals. After moving the seat to a normal position the rear seat room was good. A 6' plusser in the front and back on the same side would start to get tight though.

Except for the center console I found the interior styling and layout to be very attractive. Much better than any Ford or Chevy offering and I dare say nicer than what I have. I think we have some positive things to look forward too.

I am starting to like the grille but the honeycomb inserts are waaay too thin and delicate looking. A sparrow at 30 would do major damage

New Rams

Because of a potential move to Virginia, the purchase of my new Ram is going to be postphoned for quite a while.

One thing is for sure. From what I've been reading regarding all of the deletions on the 2002 2500's, I'm either going to buy a used 2000 or wait for the new HD's to be out a while and possibly look at a 2004.

This was to be my first (and probably last) diesel. Can't begin to express how disapointing it is to have to wait a few more years to finally get my dream truck.

I'll be dropping in to the forum every so often and I'll keep my membership active so I can be informed on the latest news.

Shake it easy!!!!!!!!

Speaking of center consoles I noticed the hinge assembly on these new trucks appears to be metal. Guess after 8 yrs Dodge decided the current plastic hinge assembly was junk. I wonder how many center consoles they had to replace under warranty before deciding to finally fix the problem

So yes, maybe good things are to come with these new trucks;)
