Ashtabula train disaster of 1876

That hasn't been the case so far. The few I've seen so far haven't brought window sticker. Just another expensive used car at this point.

Not surprising. I'm sure Hemi Cuda's and Boss 429's were expensive used cars in the mid 70's too.

The Hellcat and Demon will bring the money eventually.

Hemi cuda's and Boss 9 production is already surpassed by Hellcats and Demons. And those are bringing less money now than 5-10 years ago. I had an L79 Chevy II when I was 17. In the Y2K decade they were up to 6 figures. Now a nice example is $50-65K depending on options. With rare exceptions muscle cars are no longer fool proof investments.

Dangit, Dadgummit, and I had convinced myself I didn't need a HellCat!!!

I swear my heart rate went up while watching the speedometer go crazy.

That's a great ride, Crazy Horse! We've been thinking about a Scat Pack Charger for my wife's next car.
You can buy the stock Chargers and Challengers pretty right now. I had to go all the way with this one putting the Petty Engine package into it. The video above is the video I shot when the car was stock 707hp. I now have 1,050hp that will blow away the Demon. It's literally twice as fast now as it was when I shot those videos at my YouTube site. Coming home from Petty's I broke the tires loose at 80mph going around Charlotte, laid rubber at 80=UNREAL PUMP!

That’s pretty impressive, crazy horse. These cars in general are on fire in my area. The Challengers and Chargers are by far the most popular cars around, and they’re causing a lot of tension for the euro , JDM and tuner bunch! However, I haven’t seen any specials like your Petty, but I do see special (Roush) Mustangs and Camaros. A co worker went all in and bought a used B5 blue Hellcat Charger. He actually got a deal on it.
Check out this local story. I use this route daily, and in my heyday I did a similar act, but the population was half what it is today.

Twice as fast? That means the quarter in less than 6 sec. Literally must have a different meaning to you than me.
Driving it... feeling the thrust of acceleration it feels like twice the power as before. It had 707hp and added approx. 350hp to that. Before I had no reservations about giving it a full throttle flogging in any driving situations. Now I have reservations about quickly getting it wide open to full throttle even with the larger/more grip tires. The smile factor/pump meter is maxed for me on the street.

0-60 is less than 3 seconds when it hooks up. I'm running 295x40x20 HP street tires an inch wider and a hair taller than the factory all seasons that burned out in 1,800 miles.

Are these the AA rated summer tires like the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar or Michelin Pilot Sport (etc.) that hook in a carwash? No, they don't last long, but, you enjoy every .00 second at the track with them let alone street fun. Aside of burnouts they can get 15,000 miles - maybe.

Still doing the Jeep thing, Crazy Horse?
It's parked right next to the Hellcat :) This from the 1st oil change @ about 800 miles a year+ ago.

These are the highest speed rated tires they make commercially. They are Pirelli Summer Performance 106Y Rated Tires that grip a whole lot better than the all seasons that came on it. I looked at both the Goodyears and the Michelins and they didn't have a tire to fit what I was after. They also make street slicks now but none of those have any kind of a speed rating and generally just made for 1/4 mile runs. My ultimate goal with this car is to trailer it out west and hit 240mph on film. Location will only be known by the Car Hauler I hire which I may come here at TDR for. From the factory stock they are said to hit 200mph, I feel with the added HP and a hair taller tire and 2.62 R&P this should be obtainable, road permitting. The link above seems dead so here is a link to the 1/4 miler I did w/o air down the tires or even doing a burnout to get more grip when it was stock. I had to set a camera up on the 1/4 mile mark then get back to the start before any cars came. You can full screen these with fairly good quality.
