Okay Don, you wanna elaborate on that? I posted the FACTS and only the FACTS. I pointed out that there was a lot of dishonesty on the part of the vendor.

And you call that acting on emotion? Man, I guess I need to be smoking whatever it is you are so I can understand.

Peter,

For the record, I am very happy with my old style Sachs Clutch and pressure plate kit & kevlar pilot bearing that I got from you last Jan. I am not sure who took care of me then at South Bend Clutch, but they did a great job:D . I called up knowing nothing about Cummins motors and clutches and your people did a great job setting me up with the right clutch for my truck. I did opt for the Kevlar bearing and had my flywheel resurface & balanced. I also installed my clutch myself with a floor jack and a friend. Also note it was done in JANUARY and outside in MICHIGAN and snowing so hard I had to keep shoveling snow so the floor jack could roll  . And we still managed to install it correctly.

Rob, Can I suggest that

1. buy that shop a manual and teach them to read.

2. they owe you a kiss after screwing you.

I understand that when you have a REAL ***** that it is important to do what it takes to get it resolved, but when someone like YOU comes and in and blows off and insults a GREAT supplier like South Bend because they or the installer Screwed up a SIMPLE job, you DEVALUE the validity of this fourm to some extent. To make matters worse YOU Rob provide the proof that who ever installed that clutch made a mess of it, and you are too stupid to see it :( .

Also Rob two more words, GROW UP

Take the money and run?

Rob G... I'm glad you are using "I" now instead of "my" . Peter, as I understand was willing to reimburse you $200. 00 for the install. That is more than fair, and represents approx. what the clutch install costs should have been. Because you got ripped-off, should Peter, pay for your mistake??? Should he be responsible to pay for TWO mistakes?? I don't think so. As another member said, "bombing" is the responsibility of the of the person who wants to put performance items on their truck... Not the Vendor. .

As far as you getting "flamed", you started the mess, so handle the consequences...

Take the money and run. However, with your last post , if I were Peter, I would credit you $0. 00:mad:

Rob,

Im actually glad you have found a minute to come back and defend yourself. However,I do not care to defend my position.

Call it what you will.

Don~

Well one thing is for sure, this thread brought a LOT of A-holes out of the closet!!

You guys should be ashamed of your selves.

Some of you are 100 times worse than all my posts put together.

Gene

No South Bend here, DRE Sachs, Created by a living leJEnd!

 :D  :D

If you'll go back and read some of the other posts, you'll see that I wasn't the only one who paid over $500 for a clutch job. See, you guys who don't live in California automatically assume that because a clutch install costs over $200 that it's a rip-off.

$200 is not what I paid for the labor, and ONE MORE TIME, Peter indicated on two separate occaisons that he'd cover the labor charge, NOT PART OF IT. He said very sincerely that he'd take care of me, and even said that he had decided that if he found the clutch to not be defective, he'd STILL take care of me anyway. And he calls that taking care of me?

This is why we're having this discussion. I keep pointing out the facts that people are ignoring and then the kids come in here with crap like "whaaa whaaa" and "grow up," when I'm not the one acting like a child.

As for coming back, I always planned to. I, however, have a life outside of this forum. I have a few minutes to spare, so I've replied. I have found that it is a waste of time to have much to do with this place anymore, so I spend my time elsewhere.

MGM is dead-on right with his last post.

Rob

MGM,

Could it be I'm an A-hole? Nah! I didn't think so...

At least the name callin' was non existant from me.

Dry your tears

You should reread your FIRST post as well as your E-Mail. A man is one who can take the blame on himself if it belongs there, i. e. , your "case".

Nearly all of the members her are calm, thinking folks. Yes, they will kindle your a$$ if they feel an individual "deserves" it. Grudges are rarely held against fellow members as this is a fault of an insecure person who may have the "angry young man" type of behavior.

If you feel you wish to be included in good, informative relations with fellow members my guess is that you can, however in your high strung emotional state I feel it is akin to a bad, naggy marriage... . who the phuck needs it! Get over it!

It's pretty obvious that I happen to one of the many people that think Peter is a great guy with a great product and great customer support. I have to say that regardless of how I feel about Peter and SBC that I'd really like to see Peter and Rob work this issue out.

Rob, I think Peter's clutch replacement and 200 bucks towards labor is very fair. I know many vendors out there wouldn't haven't given you a replacement part under the circumstances and very few would have paid part of your installation costs. It looks like emotions have gotten way out of hand here. I agree that maybe you haven't gotten a great deal of support on the TDR but you've slung a little mud yourself.

Considering the events that have taken place in the last few days in New York and Washington, I would think we'd be able to put things in perspective a little here. It's easy to get very wrapped up in the little things sometimes... I've done it myself a couple times on this board. Anyhow, life's too short to spend it pissed off. Maybe agree to disagree, chalk it up to experience, and move on. End of rant...

Don,

I didn't go through and make notes on who was/wasn't!:D And I don't plan on going back to see what you said!

I know I read a lot of crap, that had nothing to do with clutches.

I don't know, Do you feel like one??LOL!

This has to be one of few threads that the two guys fighting have not shaken hands at the end of the second page.

Maybe too much gas still being thrown on by spectators.

Too bad it was not an Auto, Kondolay is always a good post!

Redirect your anger

Well, this has gotten out of hand. Please redirect your anger toward the evil that had killed our fellow americans. Put your petty differences aside and unite and kick some terrorist butt.

Mopar Muscle

"also know what centrifical force is and does ??? ".

Centrifugal force is force cause by acceleration away from the center of rotation. The counter to that is centripetal force which is force caused by acceleration toward the center of rotation.

Centrifugal force causes the grease to sling of the shaft as it rotates.

If you take a sphere and rotate it rapidly, the centrifugal force will cause the "equator" or horizontal center to expand (like the earth rotation causes expansion at the equator). At the same time, the vertical axis will decrease as it moves toward the center (again, like the earth's rotation). If the centrifugal force exceeds the centripetal force or vice versa, the rotating mass will usually disintegrate. A clutch overevved is a good example. Spin it too fast and it will fly apart.

Logic

Rob let's talk logic here. What do you think the profit that South Bend make on clutchs? Peter replaced the first one and with that alone he is in the red, then he offers to go another $200 further in the RED !!!!

Rob yes you are out some bucks but so is South Bend the only one here that is not is the shop that did the work!!!!!

I do feel bad for you but I believe your attention should be directed at the shop not South Bend. Any time there is a problem it should be a lose, lose thing this is thet except the shop won twice.

Thought I would reply

The Clutch that I have been "Boasting" about I paid "Full Boat" and then paid a Shop to install for me. (and after inspecting the install I found bolts loose and had to tighten them up!). All my posts up till now were before Peter offered for me to try / Test a new clutch. If I want to keep it I have to pay just like anyone else. Much like the offer I have posted with my kwikspool turbo's. Try it on your truck and if you want to keep it then Payup. I do Reserve the Right to Refuse the offer to anyone I choose
