A fellow TDR member allowed me to install his 370 injectors in my truck and try them for the week. I'm sold ... ... amazed,stunned,frustrated,and mad!! Why frustrated and mad?? Because I have to take them out at the end of the week #ad
Chris has a 1/4 mile strip marked off near his house, unfortunately we couldn't make a successful run due to clutch slippage in 4th and 5th gear. We decided not to push our luck slipping the clutch, so resorted to burning up my tires in 3rd gear!!! I don't think I'll be able to stand it when I remove the injectors next week, but hey... that's what credit cards are for right! Ok, on to more serious stuff. I have a popping noise at about 2600 rpm, both with and without the injectors. I initially thought that my timing was retarded, however, Chris brought up the point that the delivery valves could be restricting flow. What do you guys think, timing or delivery valves? Thanks again Strick-9. By the way Chris, since you left I have only been out my truck for about 45 minutes. Figured I'd better pick on all the Mustangs and Cameros while the going was good #ad

Governor beings defueling at that rpm range. Also you might have low fuel pressure from a bad overflow valve or lift pump. You could use more timiing too, maybe 15 degrees vs. stock which is in the range of 11-12. 5 in most of the early 2nd gen's I have checked.

I'm glad you're enjoying them. I just hope your clutch holds until you get to Las Vegas and can get a real one.

On my way home yesterday, I thought about fuel pressure or the possible lack thereof. I have the setup to check fuel pressure. You're welcome to borrow it if you would like. It's easy to do.

Joe,Strick-9... . thanks for the advice. I was out fooling around and happened to pull beside a ram-air Firebird. I didn't think I had a chance in the world, but somehow was provoked in to the situation #ad
I nailed 2nd and 3rd, and actually pulled ahead about 3/4 of a truck length. Hit 4th, and of course slipped the clutch (bad!). Once I had slipped the clutch, he passed then pulled away (not that I could have beat him anyway! These cars may be a job for Joe #ad
). Regardless... . I'm very impressed!! Strick-9, I'd definately like to borrow your setup, and I thank you for the offer. By the way, you need to come take these injectors away from me or I may not make it to Vegas. Thanks guys.

How were your EGTs. I'm looking at the ATS hi flow exhaust manifold and HX-40 to get them down so I can keep my foot in it!
They are great though arn't they. BTW your friend is a sadist for making you give them back.

My EGT's really weren't that high. With my foot on the floor they would climb to about 1100. The real test will be pulling a load. I feel they will climb to 1300 relatively easy under hard acceleration. How much does the exhaust manifold claim to drop EGT's?

My EGTs will go to 1500+ (over fueling) so I've got to stay out of the throttle for extended periods. They don't go up super quick , but they get up there. I don't have any magic number as to the manifold's ability to reduce temps. , but my stock one is moving around(shrinking)and the gaskets are pushing out between the head and manifold mating surface! It seems the stock housing is causing a restriction in the exhaust gas flow. So, I guess it's time to step up or reduce fueling(not).

79 H-D 115" Shovelhead 103horse/119ft/lb, motor went 9. 90 on drag frame we'll see what it does on a street bike soon!

The plate is from JRE it's only the stage 2( he wouldn't give me the death plate!)I have to assume by my temps it's pretty far forward. We discussed pulling some fuel out but I wouln't let him, You can't take it away now!as they say the genie is out of the bottle
