Why so loud? The 3rd gens are quiet, my 2nd gen is straight piped, it was loud but not that much louder. I just put 6" stacks on mine and it was a little louder again but the tone changed to more throaty. Is it the difference between 5" and 6"? Or did you 3rd gen guys just develop a soft ear? :D

Honestly I think its because I am used to such a quiet truck, But the 2nd gen I had, I loved the striaght pipe, But the 3rd gens sound terrible IMO for some reason

Ya know... . an extra spinny thing in the exhaust path would quiet that down nicely ;)

HA! I am not as crazy to try to build a custom twins setup, lets see - air ride, twins, etc,etc - Crazy I tell ya!

The third gens sound terrible straight piped with the stock turbo IMO. Add a turbo that flows air however and oh the sweet lound music :D Much like the second gens.

Crazy Tom? Are you kidding? Who was that old country singer that said "I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane"!

I can see it now - when the wife sees the $3000 bill for the twins kit:

"but honey, you said it was too loud, So I bough ANOTHER muffling device, YOU JUST CAN'T BE HAPPY, CAN YOU!?!?!?!)

hahaha

ahh come on Tom, just get the parts little by little so she doesn't notice. :D As for the stacks... ... ... ... ... ..... you guys are killing me. Every time I see another truck with stacks, I grab for the hole saw and drill. :D

I'm sorry Tom we just have to do this to you. It's the least we can do after you've posted these pictures and forced Lloyd and I to saw holes in our perfectly good beds.

WHOA!!!!!!!!!! You are runnin' that hard tomey!!!! Nice video though. The stacks rock. Have you seen turbodiezel's web page. I can't get enough of it. I keep showing it to a buddy that has a powerjoke. Especially the part w/ the ford turbo falling to pieces!!!! LOL

I was gonna say that shop looked really familiar. I would say at about the corner of Manslaughter road and Lindbergh? Do I win a prize?

ding, ding, ding - We have a winner, Yep, you can manchester rd before the truck... I should have done it closer to the street, you know, cover a few cars :-laf

Nice stacks! glad to see you finally did it! The sound grows on you especially with the aftermarket turbo. mine has been straight piped for almost 2 yrs. now. I think I need a muffler for trips, but I love it open around town. You went with 6" right?
