Will Lightning Strike in the UK? - MSN Autos

Zero to 60 mph will, apparently, take less than four seconds — "when it's fully developed. " This leads us to the more eyebrow-raising areas of the Lightning's specifications. Having just 30 batteries is surprising enough (most electric supercars use far more than that), but the claim is these give the car a 300-km [186-mile] range — on just a 10-minute charge.

Hey, great thread.

I hope it turns out to be as good as it looks.

Personally, I'm willing to spend substantially more money on my next new car purchase, just for the satisfaction of seeing some the big oil guys (especially opec) starting to squirm, just a little bit. I really, really hope this happens.

I know, I know, it's also our "green" polititions, global warming, etc, etc, etc.

If I sound angry, I am.

I dream of something bad happening to these people, in my life time.

NPR related that GM and FORD are negotiating to build common engines. Don't know if I/C or electric. They also said they've already collaborated on transmissions. . is the 68RE an Allison in Chrysler clothing?

My thought is, some other country will use the oil that we dont' consume. Then we will buy product(s) from those countries.

And if fuel prices were more affordable, we wouldn't even be worried about where the oil came from. :)
