I have 45,000 miles on my '03 and I am ready for new tires. I live in michigan so snow is a major factor. I was planning on buying anothe set of BFG rugged trails but I found a set of Michelin LTX a/s's for a very good price. Does any one know how well they do in the snow. They are the on road stock dodge tire so I figure someone has drove on them for a winter.

I thought they were an OK tire. Rain and ice; good, light snow; OK, heavy snow; mediocre, offroad mud or sand; they suck.

My take on it anyways. Wear is good. Road noise is low

I always seem to change mine in about 30,000 mi regardless of brand. I refuse to have less than 40-50% tread going into winter because I do alot of highway driving in the snow.

I had the LTXs last winter, they were pretty decent, nothing great, 4WD if there was any snow on the ground at all. you could also easily cause over steer in corners in 4WD with too much throttle. I would say they were average, this year I am going to run the BFG Rugged Trail TAs, I am hoping they will be a little better.

I wasn't really impressed with my Rugged Trails. I have noticed that the aftermarket seems to be catching up though. I saw Parnelli Jones Dirt Grips in the stock size for $176 a piece. They seem to have better lug seperation and may be worth checking out. I think that those are going to be my next set.

I am looking to buy a set of tires. I will not be getting the michelin. I did not like the performance in the snow. as for dirt/mud :-laf
