Thanks, TDR Staff

how can i resize images on my website??

It's not often that I ask people to help me out, but right now I'm asking you to send good vibes my way tomorrow (Wednesday, November 5, 2003) @ 9:30 AM

I will be sitting through an hour long, committee type, interview for a new job. If I am successful, I will be able to return to the work environment that I sorely miss, not as a mechanic, but at least as a supervisor of fleet operations.

Thank you in advance :)

Good luck Doc, I think it would help if you printed off a few pages of the TDR to show them what kind of potential you have, heck they would prolly hire you on the spot!

Cheers, Kevin

Yeah, does your resume have that story about when you had to cut that guys fingers off with a dull pocket knife??? If not, maybe you'll get the job anyways.

Break a leg Doc, give'em your best. ;)

Doc a supervisem:eek:   You have a great potential Doc as I have seen here on the TDR. All you got to do is print off some of the articles you have on here and you got it. 361 865-3695 is my number if they want to verify things. :D

Didn't you just get moved into a new job several months ago?They must see your potential. :-{}

Thanks for the support guys. The interview lasted a whopping 20 minutes. Guess it didn't take them long to get my number! Three men and a lady, in the panel. All of the questions were printed on a page and one of the guys asked all of the questions. At the end of the interview, I was told that there were several more interviews today, and that I might get a call for another interview. When I offered to leave copies of some written recommendations that I've collected over the years, I was told to bring them if I get a second interview.

Looks like I blew that one.

In answer to one question, I told them that I wouldn't micro-manage. Maybe that killed my chances.

Or maybe it was the way I licked my lips, when I saw the lady that was there.

That blew it..... you should have told them you were an anti-union, lying, back-stabbing skunk, and the cause of three separate factory shootings. Then you would have been a shoo-in for the job. :D

So when you saw that lady you started the ole lip licking when you saw that lady. I think that might of got her:confused: and wondering why they were interviewing this person. Next time show a little more control-at least try.

FAT LOT OF GOOD YOU GUYS ARE :D

I got the letter today. You know what it means when you get "the letter" don't ya?

Guess I'll have to start circulating the ol' resume now.

Doc,

Having some experience in job hunting, I have decided that working for the other guy absolutely sucks. But it is necessary from time to time. The "We have a few other candidates to interview... . " is normally my cue to thank them for their time and move on.

Good luck, Love your posts and threads. Something will come along that will work out for you. Just hope it's before you end up in the poorhouse.

Be glad you're not job hunting in Swampeast Missouri- economy here is just as slow as it was in the 70s.

Thanks dpuckett, and the rest of you guys for your support. I'm not totally hung out to dry, since I still work for a nominal amount, plus workers comp payments.

I took a gander at the state's school employee retirement site and found out that I could get a deferred retirement (start drawing at 60), with health insurance, if I can hang on to this job until I'm 55. It means that I will have to work for peanuts and collect comp payments for another two and a half years. I'm trying to figure out, now, how to get workers comp to back off so I can get to that point. I might need a lawyer to take care of it, but the one that I already talked to wants to get me a big settlement and a disability retirement. I'm not ready for a permanent retirement, and I am quite able to work at this point, just not doing heavy stuff.

OK - Here we go again. I found out today that the same job is available again. Evidently the guy who got the job instead of me didn't like what he saw once he started the job. I know this guy and have gone to lunch with him many times while attending various seminars related to our work. He went back to his old job at another school district that borders the district I work for. I have a call in to him, to find out what really happened, so I can make my decision on what to do next. It's possible that I will try for the job again.

I called HR and they told me that they plan to repost and I would have to submit my intent for the job all over again. I told them they already have my information and that I already interviewed, so just give it to me. The gal I talked to said that she hasn't been given instructions yet as to when or if they were going to post it again.

What do you think? Are you guys going to give me prayers and support on this again?
