Biggest John Deere Show!

Holley Dodge in CT Truck Show, July 22nd

Jeff. .

Gates open at 5 and they will begin registration right round then. IF your planning on show-n-shine,pulling,drags or tug-o-war plan on showing as early as you can. They will close registration at 7pm regardless of who you are and what you drive. I seen the management turn guys around at the gate who were there at or just after 7pm. I will not make this event as after the way they did their judging for show-n-shine the last time as I will elect to wrk instead. When they judged all they did was ride into the area on a golf cart and choose three trucks. They didn't even get their lazy rears off the cart and make their choice by was the nicest. Once they did get the trucks chosen they took them infront of the crowd and let the crowd choose who the "best of show" was by a crowd vote, what a mess... ... ... Andy

Thanks Andy. I didn't know with the show & shine if this was an all day event. I might go just for the truck pulling. Thanks again. Jeff

WOW everytime i turn around i hear more and more bad things about the buck.

Is the Management really that bad???

Michael

Yes it is!

I called the man in charge up there back in March when I first read their rules because of this:

Maximum truck weight including driver is 8,000 lbs. Added weights must be mounted and secured in bed of the truck. Front mounted weights are not allowed, front bumpers must be O. E. M. , lower brackets for snowplow frames are permitted, no modifications that add weight are permitted. All trucks must be weighed before class begins.

I left a message the he actually had to dial my number to CALL ME back and he confirmed that Non-OEM bumpers were not going to allowed because of the unfair weight advantage. I spent $130 and a day of my time driving to pick up a used OEM bumper to put on my truck just to pull up there.

On June 2nd, there was one person out of roughly 50 trucks in the pull that was running a Ranch-hand bumper... its the big one, grill guard and all included. He won the street class in the pull-off beating my buddy by just 11" and when my buddy tried wanted clarification on the bumper rule, the old man told him "I am the only one who takes phone calls around here, and I never had a call about bumpers, take your 2nd place money and leave"

also andy... registration is from 3:00 to 5:30... and like you said, they close the gates at 5:30 on the dot and those in line can stay and watch or head home.

Michael...

I will give you ANOTHER example of how poorly run the Buck shows are. While most sanctioning bodies are using a piece of dowel rod to determine ride height on the Duramaxes, they,The Buck, did NOTHING and allowed them to drop their fronts to the point where most of them were scraping the bottoms and could not even turn. Dropping the noses on them as much as they did and they would not allow any aftermarket bumpers or hanging weights on the Dodges and Fords in attendence.

I asked the head Tech man,who was also the flag man, about the dropped suspensions on the D-Maxes his reply was. . Well I ssumed they all blocked their suspensions and maybe we might have to fix it for the next pull. There is nothing we can do now and they will be allowed to stay where they finished at. Oh yeah, need I tell you that two of those suspect trucks were also Buck sponsors?. He claims they will address the ride height for the next show, time will tell though.

As for me going back,I doubt it. Its one thing to spend your money and have a chance but with my truck being the only truck that did single duty there it was easy to see what and why they picked who they did.

Its too bad that a once great place to view pulls has allowed their management to ruin a good thing... ... ... andy

Too bad you won't be there, I won't have anyone there to analyze my pull for me and watch the best line of the track before my pull. I guess I'll have to make my best guess!
