Guitarists, help me learn!!!

Any GM transmission rebuilders out there?

Cant argue with much of what's been mentioned.

Coffee and gunpowder come to mind. I like the way new electronics smell.

Woodburning stove burning something like hemlock, hickory, oak, apple or maple.

Gasoline. Honeysuckles.

I get a lot of smells at work. Some are good (pizza, cheesecake, hot cocoa, coffee, etc. etc) some really stink. I work near International Flavors and Fragerences(sp?).

Wife likes carbon paper. ??

Ahhh, there are so many. .

Diesel and the blow by from the crankcase get me every time.

Eric struck a cord with gunpowder, espcially burnt powder, reminds me of the days I spent as a kid hunting squirrels.

Hoppes or almost any other gun cleaning solvent.

That special smell that you get once a year when you start the woodstove up on that first crisp fall night.

Yes, I shopuld have mentioned burnt powder.

Glad you brought up Hoppes. That smell really brings me back too!!

If you've ever tried Sweets 7. 62 solvent you wouldnt say they all smell the same. That's a copper remover, so it's mostly ammonia. :p But then again, I dont think it's refered to as a solvent.

A 40 pound charge of cordite burned in a 5" /54 naval gun is a smell that I love, that coupled with the smell of BIG AC motors and BIG hydraulic systems driving the mount is intoxicating. The smell of the oil burning off an M60 with the powder smoke is amazing, M2 50 cal machine gun getting hot is nice as well.

My all time favorite though is the smell of my kids when they were babies fresh out of the bath.

This may sound odd and I hope I dont offend anyone but I think the coolest smell is that of a elk when it is hanging in the garage and you are skining it.

The smell of my Cummins after an oil change and there is nothing and I mean nothing like the smell of the 76 gas and gear lube heating up at Dover before they drop the green flag and the cars go screamin past ya and you're there with your heart pounding and you just smile as you can feel the little pieces of rubber hitting you on your face. :D
