Tired of all your friends telling you your Ram sounds like the local garbage truck? Tired of the neighbors running out with their trash when you leave for work in the morning?

Well, why not prove them right by owning and driving a real Cummins Garbage Truck of your own! Just think, your Cummins-powered truck not only sounds like a garbage truck, it * is * a garbage truck!

Right now they are on special at eBay Motors! They come with a long list of features, including:

*Low miles (only 62,000 hard stop & go city miles!)

*15 cubic-feet of garbage compacting capacity!

*Cummings 5. 9L 12-valve engine!
(almost as good as the Cummins version!)

*Big-rig like air cleaner!

*28000 GVWR!

*10-lug wheels!

*Starts right up!

*The tires are great!

*Attractive, streamlined cylindrical-shaped compactor!

***Comes with not one, but TWO steering wheels!
Very handy for those long road trips!

Start your own sanitation engineering service right at home, no need to rely on the city's unpredictable service! Always ready and waiting, for when *you* need to haul out the trash! No more waiting, ever!!

Better hurry! Bidding ends December 29th!

Where I used to work my truck was called the black dumpster.

If it was worth something. I would haul it off. LOL

I sure miss a flat bed to. :(

I did this with company permission also.

The truck in the photo is an International which will not have a Cummings or a Cummins engine in it. Evidently someone doesn't know the difference between the Navistar/IH DT 466 and the Cummins B5. 9.

Bill

the truck up for auction on this listing is a ford, they must have more than one because there are also international pics on the auction

if you look at the inside pic, the main steering wheel is a ford wheel

yes you can get cummins engines in an international, just order enough of them and they will build it, I delivered several 4900's with cat 3208's in them, never got a cummins though in the 18 monthes I delivered new internationals (in the 4700/4900 straight trucks that is)

Eric,

Are you sure they were Cat 3208s and not IH 9. 0 liter V-8 diesels? They looked a lot alike--the Cats were yellow and IH 9. 0s were blue. They put 3208s in 1700, 1800, and 1900 seires medium duties and a few 4700 and 4900s, but were discontinued because of reliability problems and a relatively short life.

The DT466 was the customer preferred engine in the International medium duty truck for many years. They were in service before the Cummins B and C series were released. In my 30 years with International, there has never been a Cummins B or C series engine available in a standard production model International medium truck. We sales people complained about the lack of availability of those engines, but our complaints fell on deaf ears.

As soon as I read the title of this thread I thought of your Ram Vaughn...

with that 5" diameter exhaust and all.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

They were 3208's, said Catapilar on the valve covers

we got some weird combinations going to some of the body companies, we used to hate getting some of the export trucks and some of the chassies that were going to be salt trucks, they did not go very fast with the 7. 50 to 1 rear end

the 160 hp export DT 466 was a bummer to drive also

I delivered an 8300 that had the DT 530 and a 5 speed allison in it once, would beat almost everyting on the road to 50 MPH which was it's top speed, had to drive it about 100 miles to the co. that was making it into a fire engine

Man, I am a bit surprised that they will last 60K miles. The ones here get PINNED, big cloud of black smoke and get up to maybe 20MPH when it is time to lock up every wheel with brakes on it and slide up to the next driveway. There are blackmarks in front of each house from the trashtrucks. It is amazing that you could pound a vehicle that hard for that long.

My wife thinks mine is a garbage truck...

It seems like every time I go to the recycling center, I come home with somebody else's garbage. Got a couple kerosene heaters lately, they both work too. I figured if they didn't, I'd figure out where to use that kerosene. :D

LOL John :D

I'll never forget your comments about putting a grate over the tailpipe to keep the sewer rats out

LSMITH, I thought 60K was amazing too. You can just imagine how many full throttle/brake application cycles that have occured in that many miles. Let's say for instance even with the trips to the dump & back, those guys are slammin' 'em 3-5x per block or say about 40 times a mile. . . that's 2. 4 million brake & throttle slams over 60K

Then there's the driving over curbs, in & out of alleys, driveways, and whatever else gets thrown at them.

Vaughn

EDIT: John I had to remove some of the smilies from your quote so I could post a few of my own
