Big-D, thanks for the info on gauges.
Samb and BigEd I see that both of you have the 12V Cummins. I thought they run at lower revs. Are we comparing apples and apples?
I see many of you tow in O/D. I guess I'll have to try all these suggestions out and see what the 3500 is capable of.

Here is an idea...
Since DC is willing to pay and you clearly are concerned about it, go ahead and get the gearing swap. I don't tow, so will not pretend to have the experience of others, however it is my understanding that things like launching from traffic lights, etc is easier with the 4. 11's.

Some day in the future, if you find yourself doing far less towing then you thought, switch the gears back (at your cost) or splurge on a splitter(much simpler with 2WD).

Food for thought...

PS: I second the input that the gauges, etc are simply to protect your investment. Some might argue that an hour meter is more important than a pyro.
