what a complete lost cause!!! - Don't waste your time - on a 10 pt scale - maybe a 2... and I not only love the original - I own it on DVD... ... There are so many things wrong - ESPECIALLY the ending..... that it would take pages to explain... . this isn't even a rental - and I can't believe I'm saying that - here I went to a midnight+1 movie to see it..... and I've only done that for one other movie... so I was expecting it to be great - what a disappointment!

I refuse to see any remake; Hollyweird is lazy and has no creativity anymore.

A lot of good books out that could be made into great movies, but Hollyweird will not spend the money, or if they do they don't follow the book and change things, all for the worse that is. Too bad

when I heard they twisted the plot from "war" to "enviroment" I said the hell with it. Its a bunch of crap, there are so many plots for movies out there that I think would be awesome movie ideas, yet no one does them, and they just keep pumping out the same rehashed crap... .

The ONLY Good thing in the movie was one line......

when the SECDEF (naturally a woman - and NOT HOT) was talking to Klaatu she referred to the Earth as being "... . Our Planet..... " he went on to say "... Your Planet - what makes you think it's yours?"

He has a couple of moments - BUT

what happened to hin - WTF Knows??? I mean how they screw up his character is beyond me.....

Watched it last night on 'AMC'... just imagine that screenplay, those actors and George Lucas. Gort and Sam Jaffee... what a pair!
