Combustion temps and pressures

a few days ago one of my posts was the bud of a heated argument over on the Duramax site. I patiently waited after registering, for three days to reply. after three days, I still couldnt post a reply. so I emailed the site and included my reply, asking them to either open my priviledges, or post my reply for me. its now been four days since I did that, and still nothing. I cant post, and they have not even acknowledged my email.

that site blows... now, in that same post there is our buddy RobG, blasting South Bend and US, for being such narrow minded bone heads for blasting his post when he attacked Peter @ South Bend a few months back. but dont bother, you probably wont be able to reply.

hey guys (Duramax people) if your reading, and I know you are heres my response to the thread entitled "more head gasket rumors"

Hi My name is Todd, I will not hide behind my anonymity here and will reply to any and all you questions and comments. I belong to the TDR and go by the user name Todd T there.

a few days ago we (Joey D, TDR members and Myself) had a rather heated battle about a post on the TDR about you guys reading and talking about our posts. I read the post and then followed the thread here and read the comments in this post. I lost it!! I proceeded to belittle Joey D (Jdecampo on the TDR) and give him some more information surrounding "the Race" that he had touted and doubted on here. I would like to now give the members of this forum my side of this “race” with some details that were left out.

my truck is a 2001 Quad Cab Short Bed 4x4 2500 5spd Dodge Ram. I have up rated the HP to an estimated 330-350HP. If you still doubt that, I have Dyno stubs of the truck when it had the Powermax 3adj. And 4” exhaust only, that will show you I had 310HP and 675ftlbs of torque. Since that Dyno run (4 actually) I have added Bully Dog step 4 injectors and a custom built Stainless Steel air box that uses a K&N filter and draws air through the cowl (Psychotty style if you are familiar). the injectors are advertised to add 120HP to a stock truck. I am not foolish enough to try and claim I have added another 120HP, so I have Guesstimated my new HP to be AROUND 330-350. with that out of the way I will now tell you the exact details of the RACE in question. It was not a drag race, like must of you have envisioned. The truck I raced, was, or appeared to be a new (do to the lack of license plates) Crew cab 4x4 dually with the Duramax diesel and I believe and automatic transmission. He entered to interstate very aggressively to catch up to me. He got right beside me, and I looked over at him, with a smirk, and he looked back forward and gassed it. I, in turn, did the same. I passed him at about 90MPH and after I cleared his whole truck applied my brakes and slowed back down. He slowed back with me, to 60MPH and then we took off again. I, again passed him and braked to let him know he lost. We did this one more time and he never came back up to me. I was pulling a 16foot trailer, that had 2 ½ cords of oak firewood on it. I estimated its weight to be 4000lbs. That was accounting for the weight of the trailer (1200lbs or so).

If you have ever owned or ridden in a truck that has been up-rated to the level of mine or more. You could easily comprehend how I was able to do this to his truck, at those speeds. Torque is what moves weight and I had plenty of it. he only had a stock configuration and about half as much torque as I am sitting on. It was mentioned that you folks don’t appreciate the “non paying members” coming over to your site and starting Crap. Well, be informed, I had posted this within my own ranks. it was then one of your Brotherin, that brought it over here, adlibbing none the less and started “the crap. ”

There is no need to take this any further, as Joe and I have settled our differences. I just wanted the chance to set the record straight.

maybe one of you, that isnt scared of being bounced off, will cut and paste it for me. :D

Todd havnt you learned anything? DONT CONFUSE THE MAXIPAD OWNERS BY USING *FACTS*!!! They would need to know the VIN of your truck, engine S/N, humidity, air temp, wind speed/direction, and the amount of tread on your tires to determine if you had an unfair advantage on "the worlds most powerful diesel"

The only time I have had an empty Chevrolet try to pick a race with me is when I have a trailer behind me. I've got to think this one thru... ... ... ... . what does it mean?????????

Second on that... the only time my bow-tie buddies even mention a truck contest is when my CTD is hooked up to 14k+ of goose-neck trailer..... and neither of the two (one 3/4 ton Duramax 4x4 & one duallie Duramax 4x6) have yet agreed to an even trailer weight competition (uphill:D :D ).

Anyone else seeing a pattern here???

The new GM Duramax MAY prove to be a good engine (but don't bet the farm on it... ;) ), but is still to new to be considered a "proven" engine... . No problem there, time will truly tell...

What HAS been well established, and proven WELL BEYOND the slightest doubt, is that MANY of members of the DM group are insecure, whining cry-babies that evade the slightest controversy where their beloved DM is concerned, and whose favorite (juvenile!) retort to criticism is "they're just JEALOUS of our fantastic trucks and our "superior" state-of-the-art DM powerplant...

DREAM ON GM/DM DUDES! ;) :p :D

One more thing these cry baby maxipad boys will say is, "GM invented the common rail fuel injection. " Those cry babies must not have any knowledge that Cummins has a patent on the

common rail fuel injection... .

Duramaxipad boys need to understand that not everyone cares for a "quieter" diesel motor and certainly you motor is NOT the "most powerful" diesel motor. We certainly are not jealous

of your beer can motor.

We welcome competition because it will entice Cummins and Powerpoke to produce more power to keep with the "jones. "
