Being the son of a railroad engineer, he spent much of his life in Mississippi. He came to Fort Walton Beach, Fla. , on his honeymoon in 1963 where he planted his roots to raise his family. Joe had requested at his mother’s funeral that he be cremated and that he wanted everyone to wear blue jeans, T-shirts and sneakers. He said “suits were just too uncomfortable. ” The Webb family will have a gathering of friends and family at Wright Baptist Church, Saturday, Dec. 16, from 3 to 5 p. m. , in the fellowship hall, with the memorial following at 5 p. m. , Wright Baptist Church, 795 Beal Parkway, Fort Walton Beach. PSALMS 107:23-29
Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters; they saw the deeds of the LORD, his wondrous works in the deep. For he commanded, and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. They mounted up to heaven, they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight; they reeled and staggered like drunken men, and were at their wits’ end. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and HE delivered him from their distress; He made the storm be still; and the waves of the sea were hushed. Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love.
