My dear wife has basically told me that we need the mega cab. Our two labs and daughter (3 kids total :) )are just too crowded in the back seat of my 04. 5 Quadcab. Now this is a tough sale as I really like my truck.

So I go down to the lot and look around. We have a Lance 845 that we picked up last year so I'm thinking I should probably upgrade to a 3500. And low and behold they have 4 Mega Cab Dually's on the lot!!!! 2 Laramie's and 2 SLT's All of them white? All of them 6 speeds!!!!

The only thing I don't like about them is they all have that electronic transfer case. I have always preferred a stick thru the floor for any and all shifting activities. And the seats, they are not as comfortable as my 04's

So, I have been saying I like the Mega Dually since the first pic was released. And the wife TOLD me to go down and pick one out. And now I don't know if I want to give up "Lil Blue"

How well does the new 06 seat material hold up? Looks like its kinda a denim type material? And has there been much problem with the electronic shift transfer case?

Damn the dilema :-laf

I agree with you on the transfercase shift. I like the manual one as well. My new Megacab also came with the electric shift and has so far worked flawlessly. Even in the -0 temps we see in Montana. I now have 6300 miles on mine with no problems.

ya know, you get 4 on the lot and the dealers around here dont get ANY... ever... i just want to look at one and see how many parts i have to buy to get the feders to work on my dodge...

Beware, the MegaCab dually GVWR (10,500) is only 600# higher than the SRW, and the duallies take up about 1/2 of that, and the MegaCab probably takes the other half, so when it's all done, you have about the same load capacity as a SRW Quad Cab. There's nothing you can do about it, but thought you should know the numbers.

Klenger,

Yea I knew the numbers. Thanks though. She wants a bigger cab. I don't want to go away from Cummins. So its a Mega Cab. dually gets me a little closer to GVWR plus I like the way they look.

FYI - Hinckley Dodge in SLC had a nice Silver MC Dually on the lot last week.

Loaded... $55,000 sticker :--)

Well we done went and did it. Picked it up last night.

06 Mega Cab Dually White/Kackie g56 SLT 4x4 Power Slider, limited slip, 6 disc indash, Sirius radio, Power Seats.

Will try and get a couple pics up tonight.

GWBourne, - You want me to take pics of anything particular? Just hollar Oo.

My wife has never encouraged me to buy a truck... some of us are luckier than others :) . I've owned a couple dodge trucks with electronic transfer cases and never had a problem. Now that I've gotten used to the space there on the floor... I won't go back to a manual transfer case as long as I have an auto transmission (means I can actually put somebody in the middle of the front seat without to much complaint... kidwise that is). Don't sweat the switch... it should do right by you.

Tee... Congratulations on your new ride.

I think what your wife really wanted is a big suv or caravan. There is more then enough room in the back seat of the third gens for a kid and a couple of dogs. Besides... Never forget rule one: I never ride in the back... :D :D
