Thanks, TDR Staff

roughly, what is a p7100 pump in good shape worth?

Hypertech programmer?

I wonder if there is enough room to mount 2 identical fuel pumps on the frame, one above the other?

If one was to fail, all you do is transfer the lines down to the second pump along with the power harness, and in 15 minutes or less, youre back in business.

Then you replace the failed one, without a loss in service. It becomes your backup.

The thing would be to use easy disconnect fittings, and have 2 end caps for the backup pump to keep it clean inside, and a dummy electrical connector to protect the plug.

Yes, I already have a Fass, or would be checking it out. I like the idea of being able to switch on the fly. . Practical.

Edited: If two wont fit directly to the frame, then mount the bottom one as low as possible, and make a bracket to extend upward for mounting the top pump. Game's over, problem resolved. .

Who's your Daddy?? :D :D

Seems like a lot of work.

I think the key would be to have a couple of valves, one before and after the pump, so you can shut off the fuel, and not have it siphon out the filter or tank while you are switching out.

I relocated my LP to the frame rail, and the bracket that I made resembles the design of a fire extinguisher bracket to hold the pump. All I have to do is disconnect the lines, unplug the pump, remove one bolt from the bracket and the LP is out.

As far as mounting two pumps, there is one guy that did it with bypass valves, and the pumps are in series.

Above and below... that is going to be a little tight, and I would be nervous of any part hanging below the frame rail.
