Well, I finally have enough money to buy an 04. Went and priced one via email at Steve White motors. They will sell to me at invoice, minus rebate minus half holdback, which makes it invoice minus $2800. But they are a 10 hour drive from me, one way

So I go over to the brand new dodge dealer around the corner from me. The sales guy si working out of a camper because the building was supposed to be finished in August and it's not done yet.

So he does all his work and calls me back and says they can cut me a good deal and it turns out to be $1000 over invoice minus rebate. So I told him I'm not going to beat around, I alread got a price from NC with free shipping that puts me at invoice minus rebate, minus half the hold back. He said he couldnt' believe me, so I told him I'd stop down there and drop the quote on his desk. So he then starts hemming and hawing and saying there's no way to cut into hold back. So my last thing was I said sell it at invoice minus rebates and I'll buy it. Of course he has to check with the manager. I'm waiting for the call back. This is going to be a truck to be ordered and paid for in cash. So all they have to do is paperwork.

Well the lowest he wants to go is $400 over minus rebates. The best I've been able to do around here previous is $500 over minus rebates. I know I can get it $700 cheaper in NC, but I'm not sure that's worth 20 hours of driving plus food, fuel and a hotel for at least one night. So the debate is whether or not to just order it. This dealer is also a Ford dealer with a very good service reputation.

I was in pretty much the same situation here in CA. Ended up buying in Idaho. More than a 10 hr drive for me, but it was all :D on the way home. I saved more than $700, but I'd do it all over again to save any $. Do the trip, break in the new truck and save the $ for the s. o. and toys for the truck.

I'd stick with the good local dealer with a very good service reputation. It will be worth it in the long run. That great service will be even greater if you buy it there.

Don't look at it as 20 hours of just "driving",

It would be 20 hours of driving your brand new Cummins!

Heck it might even be broke in a little by the time you got it home!

Where are you located? Maybe someone on here knows of a dealer closer that will cut you a deal at or below invoice + incentives? I know I have a dealer here in MD that thwill sell below invoice + incentives.

I went into a local dealer today, found the saleman I had talked to before had moved on, and basically started from scratch with a new guy and told them I was ready to order today if we could make the numbers work. They asked me twice what I wanted for my truck, and both times I refused to play the game. By the time they finally appraised it, it was $2000. less than the number I had in my notebook. I decided that $1500. would do it and told them so. They asked if I would meet them halfway, I said no, I'm already $500. off my price; give me what I want and I'm ready to order today. After lots of deliberation, the sales manager finally said he would call his boss and run it by him. He came back in a bit and said it was a go. I also flat out told them that no I hadn't shopped around and I simply did my homework and they could sell me a truck today if they wanted. In my estimation, based on the value of my trade, my deal is probably about $1000. -$1500. under invoice, minus rebates. Bottom line with rebates including Farm Bureau, about $8800. less than sticker. Don't feel sorry for them, they still have ample opportunity to make a profit selling my trade! If I sell it on my own, they'll sell me the new truck for invoice less rebates.

I'm in Central Western NJ. I still have not decided on what i'm going to do. I may just do the NC trip and turn it into a mini vacation for the family. We have some people down there that we met in the beginning of the summer. We were overseas together adopting children. So it's a good reason to visit them.

I'm also waiting to here what the NC guy will do on a trade. If he'll take my trade which is only worth about $300 and I know nobody wants it. (84 Accord with 195k) It would make the trip much more easier, go down with one and come back with the other.

I'm also sure the local guy will call me on Monday and ask me what I've decided. I'll see if I can get him to move on his price again.

the time to deal is end of the month. i got my 03 200 miles away from my home for some 2000 less and got free running boards installed. all i had to say was it is more convient for me to come back with my wife next weekend (it would have ben tne next month) but if you throu in a set of running board it would be worth the hassle. plan on the dealer trying to make money on your purchace or trade remember there are 2 sales happening.

ps i have never met a salesmen who knew about the product he was selling. i would pay extra for an experienced knolagable sales men. i had one sales man say when asked what the tow rateing is on that truck. "what ever the bumper says"javascript:smilie('')

04 Order

I ordered an 04 SLT QC 3500 4x4 SWB From BLUEBONNET Dodge in New Braunfels, TX for invoice minus rebate.

Very easy to deal with, If anyone is looking for a dodge in south central Texas www.bbdodge.com is the place to go.

Jim Belt is the Internet director (jim@bbdodge.com) and a very nice person. I felt very comfortable dealing with him.

Hello everybody...

As I have mentioned before, I am selling 04's at 3% under invoice, or all of holdback... thats like $3500+ under invoice

Or if you take a truck out of stock or take delivery by Oct 31st, I will do 20% off sticker, (again another purchase plan I have available till oct 31st)

example - sticker - $40,000

your take it home price - $32000

This is for real, Yet only few people take me up on this offer...

Thanks for your time... By the way, any dealer can do this price, If they want to that is, but most don't want to...

Thanks!

I didn't know anything about your dealership, I guess I have not read enough posts. St louis is a bit of a hike for me.

I decided to try one more dealer before ordering from North Carolina. I just went and told him I didn't want to waste his time or mine, Told him I wanted invoice, minus rebate, minus $300. HE wrote it up and the manager said ok. So I ordered it today. I'm happy.

Truck stickered at $40,685, I paid $33,500.

Now I can't wait for it to come in. Hopefully I'll be farm bureau by then and get another $500. :D :D

I'm in Millville, NJ. My local dealer gave me my truck for invoice minus incentives. Very good service department. If you need more info PM me or call 609-774-6344.
