My 04. 5 has been beeping its horn on its own for about 2 days now.

It has went off about 2 or 3 times while I was within an earshot of it.

Well today it decided to just go honk itself and stay honkin'! :-laf :-laf

Remembering reading a thread on TDR about this very subject. I ran out side in my socks (Been raining here for about 2 weeks) and pulled the battery cables.

After reading the thread (thanks TDR!) I located the #45 fuse and pulled it.

So how much does the part cost that fixes this problem? (air bag ring/horn thingy?)

I know its under warranty, but I dont think the local dealer will like the sound of the dual disc clutch and TST box, not to mention what else is under the hood!

:D

THis happened to me but I was gone for 6 weeks when it started and nobody was home to turn it off so it honked until it killed the batteries. Mine was the horn pad and the dealer replaced it. It doesn't take long and you sure shouldn't be paying for it as a hyped up clutch and TST box most likely aren't the culprits. This is a known glitch. I wouldn't do it yourself as you are dealing with the airbag when changing the horn pad...

I had the same problem and posted a question on this site. It was the horn pads and the dealer replaced them under warranty.

I too had this problem, except, the horn only blew when the outside temp went below about 15 degrees F. The Dodge Service Writer told me it was the horn pad, so , it must be a common problem. My dealer had to order the pad. It was replaced under warranty.

Mine is waiting for a new horn pad now. Sort of wierd it started honking at 2am in the shop. Strange way to wake up, we figured the truck was lonley??

If it's not the horn pad then it would be the relay located in the bottom of the black PDC box (power distribution center) under the hood on the driver's side. Unfortunately it's not serviceable, gotta replace the whole PDC. I know, I found out the hard way myself, cost over $350.
