The BFGoodrich Tires Kick Asphalt/Get a Grip Tour

Kevin..... i am positive i'll be there just keep me informed if you are going for sure or not as the time gets closer. Where exactly are you located? I already made plans to meet Hammer at the Rutters off of Rt30 in Lancaster at 7am. That means i'll be leaving my place around 5:30am or so to get there by 7am. Maybe we can arrange to meet up this way more or something. Let me know, but i definitely am meeting up with Hammer.

Larry

Hey Tom, I should know on Tues if I will have to work on Sat. If I don't I will bring my jack stands with me. I don't think there are any special tools to remove it. Do you have a 4" grinder? I have one if you need to use it. Jeff

hey jeff... i dont have a grinder, but larry willard is bringing one ... by all means, bring yours as well if you can!!!!... i just checked the movement in the track-bar,and sure enough, there is considerable slop vertically... . i have a urethane bushing for the other side i will be installing also... . im anxious to see how much difference it makes..... tom:)

Tom. .

No special tools are needed for the job. Someone should bring along a small come-a-long to help line things up afterwards. It will help the trac bar line up and fall into its mount easier. If you wanted to see how much difference it makes maybe I should have let you drive mine at Ft Fredrick. It took more time to reinstall the bar than to do the link job,and it included a few skinned knuckles. . LOL

I did double check with Chris & Dave at Kauffman's this week and made sure they knew we had a few minors work jobs planned. They said no biggie as they have the room to allow us to manuver with a MUCH bigger shop.

I hope we get a good group of helpers as we have at least 3 jobs pending. Larry Mills wants to do a front sring install,Tom and his Lukes Link and me with a gauge install. I will ask for those with work to be done to be there as early as possible so we can get them started in case of problems.

Weather looks like it may cooperate and maybe as long as the ''nanner puddin" stays in WVA we will be safe. I am going to try to drop off my Weber Friday so we have at least one grill, wonder if "Chef" Shovelhead is coming to help cook. I will bring my Nerf bat to handle all complaints or complainers while cooking.

One last thing,we will break for lunch at Noon. We all know how narly Dave gets when he doesn't eat on time. Kinda reminds me of a bear with a sore butt:D :D. Anyway, see ya all there and if early indications are correct should be a lot of rides there. Kauffman's has been fielding a bunch of direct calls on this show and Fall Brawl... ..... Andy

Hey Andy, Thats why we used jack stands. We supported the frame and took the front tires off. The front axle could then be moved by hand to line up the track bar. However he wants to do it is fine with me. Hope to see you all Sat. Jeff

Hey guys,

whatever anybody needs a hand with i'll do what i can. Andy i am pretty good at running wires for gauges at least i did it in my truck without a problem. I still can't believe YOU are putting gauges in YOUR truck!!!! Heck with all this rain it might just turn to snow on Sat!!! I wanna spin the rollers and then after that i am free to offer my services in any way i can to whoever needs it. Looking forward to Sat and meeting some new people see everybody there.

Larry

p. s. i am planning on bringing some buffalo wings. Is there anything else anybody knows we are gonna need?

Anybody from PGH

Hey is anybody from Pittsburgh going to go. I was wondering,I may and may not go Don't really want to make that drive by my self.

Hey Tom, I will be working till noon on Sat. I still plan to come. I'll be leaving straight from work. I should be there around 1:00 depending on traffic. They were talking about starting early on the trucks with work to do. You can let me know if you still want me to bring anything. See you on Sat. Jeff

Truckie...

Just make the trip it will be worth your time, trust me here. Since Jetpilot won't be around and Sled Puller is going to a pull no one will want to hurt your wallet to much with very bad ideas. depending on where in the "Steel City" your at you should make it in about 3-4 hours depending on how hard you tromp the loud pedal.

llawrence. .

SNOW???...

Have you been chatting with the Pres again??. Seems like he is always in control of the weather, you know its called the ''nanner puddin forecast",if its brought along it will be very swampy... . :D As for gauges, well it does go against my better judgement. An old local racer once told me at a very young age when I asked him how come Oppermans car had them and his didn't this little quip... "If you can't see it from the grandstand and it don't vibrate your goggles off you don't worry about it",that man was the late Kenny Weld. Heck in my drag cars they only had a tach and oil pressure gauge. less stuff to worry about:D :D :D .

Jeff Knight...

If Tom needs anything you have early drop it off with me of meet me before you go into the plant on Eden rd. My place is only a stones throw away.

Ok. .

Looks like the weather will be hot, humid and sunny, now there is something different. I did forget Rich Kurz would like to change the gear oil in his rears also. Soo I'll look the thread over tonite and post up whats being brought and see ya all there... ... . Andy

p. s-Rumors have it Johnboy was going to sneek off on Sled Puller and show up. BUT,Gene has gotten wind of it and has laid down the law and has told him to show up to pull that nite or else. So I am guessing the Ford contigent will be all a M. I. A. deal.

Hammer do you know what time you plan on going through Dillsburg? If so give me an idea and we'll try to catch up as you roll through town. there's three or four of us meeting for breakfast there on 15. if anyone needs any special tools let me know. Will also be have a buddy with me with his new 03 (300mi). Hammer you need to explain to him why he needs a straight pipe:D . He says it's too soon.

POW-MIA. .

We are leaving the Rutters store near my place at 7am sharp. It takes us about 30 minutes or so to get into Pickletown USA from here if we don't have any trouble(sister still lives there so I make frequent trips back and forth). Where are you guys eating at,Bakers??. If so I'll slip the group by and pick you up to follow us down... ... . Andy

P. S. -just tell him this on his lacking of the straight pipe... . "If its too loud, your too old" or how about this one "Heavy isn't loud,Heavy is ATTITUDE".

kauffmans "tune up " day

I'm just posting a quick note for Hammer, his puters messed up at the moment so as soon as its up again he'll be posting his notes on the dyno runs.  had lots of fun my self and met a lot more Great people! my run wasn't what i wanted but i've fig out the prob. so on to the next one:rolleyes:  .

Later All, Scott

my run wasn't what i wanted but i've fig out the prob. so on to the next one .

Mine wasn't, either, and I've figured out the problem, too. I need more power. :D And no, the propane tank was hooked to the grill, (still in the back of my truck), not the truck. I enjoyed the day myself, and it was good seeing everyone again. See you all in Oct.

Jim

Hey All, Even though I didn't get there till last I had a good time. Good to see some old friends and talk to some new people. Kauffman's new shop is really nice. Looking forward to Oct. I know you will get your truck sorted out Scott. Good luck with it. See you all later. Jeff

Kauffmans

Thanks Jeff. i got it sorted out already:D :D it's in a hundred pieces spread around the garage. solved boost prob. some MORON (me  ) dialed the boost reg down and forgot to set it back up if i flashed it it would over shoot the gate but on the dyno it spools a little slower so the gate catches it. good thing i did pull it apart anyways the weld at the 35 to the hot pipe has a 2" crack in it:--) :--) plus i found 4 exh leaks that need serious attn. she'll be rip roarin ready for oct. cant wait.

Hey Jim, thanks for the help cookin. burgers were great!

Later ,Scott
