What the heck is it for? Was there actually an intended use for this?? Or is there an Option I don't have that used this ?

Thanks!

Dan

It works good for cellphones :D

However I'm still trying to get spare change I put inside it 6 months ago. (bad idea)

Other than that it makes a good place to mount a transmission temp gauge from GENO"S ;)

On a AT the cubby location is where the OD off and fog lamp switch are, I guess Dodge figured they had to put something there for the manuals.

The older trucks its for what illflem posted. On the newer trucks its to the right of the radio below the airbag control, it is where the heated leather seat switches reside. The Overdrive On/Off is on the gear shift handle, and the foglight switch is incoprporated into the headlight switch. It is a really great place to put a gauge. I use mine to hold my cell phone.

CD Wallet

My CD wallet fits nicely in there. Easy to reach when I want to play, or change, CDs. Use to keep my garage door opener there, previously. :D

Ok, those using it to hold cell phones -

How do you keep the phone from falling out? - some rubber tape? velcro? What??

Mine slides out too easy - of course I ALWAYS accelerate nice and gently to get the best MPG and make the EPA happy!:D

Mine stays in just fine. There is a rubber mat in the botton of it and that seems to keep it in there. The lip also helps too.

My cubby has a lime green H. O. scale '67 mustang fastback sitting so I can see it. It's to inspire me of a dream project sitting in my dads' garage two states away.

That is my heated seat switch, or as my friend calls them, the Diarrehea control switch, apparently heated seats and him dont get along.

Newer trucks must have a much bigger cubby, on my '95 there is no way it will hold a cell phone. Mine barely holds the keys.

Geno's sells a combo EGT/Boost guage with a bezel that fits that hole nicely. Not as easy to read as separate guages, but looks pretty good and does the job. :)

Illflem is right, Its a usless black hole on the 5 speeds, on autos it held the OD switch. My black hole now holds my SPA digital EGT and boost gauge. A perfect fit.

Rats hole ;-)

A fuel pressure gauge has taken up perminant residence in this cavity in my truck's dash. I got the mount when i ordered the combo gauge from Geno's, but, I used a pillar mount for the combo gauge and saved the "cubby hole adapter" for the fuel press. gauge.

I used to put safety glasses for work in this cavity.
