dyno and Ripon pull results

Just wanted to say we had a great time there, 21 trucks total pulled and a few cars. I finally got mine on the Dyno with the final result of 292 HP/ 681 TQ and yes the plate is in the stock position the rest is in the sig. Don M showed up and was the top dog on #2 with 447 HP and Chris Strictland with the max on one bad wonded motor... . (remember my engine damage on the 12V form) it's still there, totaled the drugs to 480? Chris chime in here... ..... Some folks that just showed up driving through..... guy from Louisiana that slapped me around at 350/775 then towed to California. Some new faces and some from last time. My truck was the new DTT test drive truck for 3 folks... . it's nice when you can trust people to just say here take it for a spin. All in all a great time but I have a gripe to Don... ... ... When you gun it beside me I can't see the road... ..... Looked better after you were in front of me. Thanks to everyone till next time..... Later.

JimOo. Oo. Oo.

Hey jim, You trying to gip me outta 3 HP or something?

It was 449. 3... not 447. hehe!

SAE corrected HP numbers on cold weather days are a joke with DynoJet software. Raw numbers were much better for everyone.

I think Chris was about 440 with everything. Maybe too much Nitrous was putting the fire out on his engine and that poor piston was smoked.

It was fun. I had a few too many barley sodas though.

I never even stopped to eat all day. My caloric intake was from Budweiser today.

Don~

wish i coulda made it.....

wish I could have made it but I went to the beach instead. :D

Don,

Looks like you found that power you were missing last time. Good deal. Maybe some day you can teach me what you know about injectors.

But really guys, beer at a TDR event, I am shocked!  :p ;)

Andrew

Well, I had a good time. I was one of the new guys, so this was the first time I've met any of these guys. Nice group of people. Interesting conversations. I learned some new things about the 12V. I'll have to make it to more of these get togethers.

Oh yeah, my truck made 255/650. Not too shabby.

Thanks everyone.

Brian

Sorry Don, I wanted to make it but the transmission wasn't up to the trip... You need to call Peter, the new SBC 13" con-fe is awesome!

What a depressing day!

I put up 427/963 and my nitrous only nets me 17 useless HP.

Then on the way home I continue my perfect streak of truck failures at TDR events.

I got south of Dallas 6 miles north of Ennis when my truck starts walking all over the road. I thought it was the wind at first, then I thought the road was rutted and my trackbar was worn out. Then I hear a noise that sounds like someone is beating the floorboard with a hammer and I thought, this is about to get interesting. Next thing I know, the front end drops a few inches and the truck lunges to the left. I steer hard to the right to avoid hitting people and get on the brake pedal. Guess what, no brakes. Now my front left tire is skidding and I veer off the road and come to a screeching halt. I get out to find the top of my tire laid over into the engine. What a mess. The wheel bearing completely came apart and was scattered all over the road. I called a buddy to bring a trailer from Houston (3 hrs) to trailer me home. Just now getting in at 1:40am.

What a day, eh?

It's too dark and I'm too tired to check out the damages tonight.

At least no one was hurt.

-Chris

Dang Chris what are you doing wrong in life you have too much he!! like a good boy I'm going to Chruch this morning, do you want me to put you and your troubles on our prayer list;) Seriously it could happen to anyone we all should look at stuff more than we do, I have some annoying creeeeek that comes from my front end during low speed turns and can't fine it. Hope everything works out for the best, maybe we all should exchange cell phone numbers before we leave the event's.

Jim

Chris,

What a drag. I cant believe you have had all the troubles lately. Im glad you were not going about 115MPH when it all let loose.

Let me know if I can help you out. I remember that bearing assembly was about 200 bucks when I bought my last one for my truck. I would not be too depressed, after looking at the photos of the piston and head. You are making a ton of power with what you have.

Johnathon,

Sorry to hear about your transmission. Somewhere in OKlahoma is a good transmission shop that Peter knows about. You might call Peter and ask him their name. If you want to bring it to Texas you can take it to Standard Transmission in Ft Worth.

What a drag.

Oh, the limit of the Southbend Con-O was not found yesterday. It is still holding the power even at 450HP, but since my truck is so heavy I am going to upgrade to the bigger clutch and flywheel soon. Just need the cash to do it.

Andrew,

Sorry you could not make it out. And really... . we did not drink any barley sodas;)

Jim,

Seems to me that Chris is living right. Even after hanging around me and you all day I did not hear one single 4 letter word come outta Chris's mouth. He was a saint all day long.

Oh, I never got to ride in the DTT truck. Maybe next time.

Sorry about the smoke I blew on ya, it was just in fun.

If your out there 777, sorry things got so jumbled up yesterday. I was spending half the day trying to find a turn in the bathroom.

Contact me in a PM and we can work out your truck delima.

Don~

Chris, sorry to hear about your continued bad luck. Things will get better though.

Had a blast at the dyno. When I get the new injectors in I will run the next time. Hoping for 425-450HP.

Don, I will PM you later and discuss the injectors. :)

777

Good to chat with you at the event, BOTW when you left out that pipe was sounding mighty sweet going through the gears. I didn't realize you were turning that kinda power out as it wasn't smoking allot.

Jim

Jim it was good to meet you and talk to you.

I really like the sound of my new JRE exhaust.

Wasnt smokin to much cause I wasnt gettin on it all that much.

Cant wait for the injectors and turbo!

Hope your transmission stays together.

Had a Great Time!!

I set the 'ole EZ on 2 just to get a baseline. Next time I'll put her on 3. My main goal is to see what actual improvements I get. Someday I might get some DDII's, but I want to get 400K miles out of the same mill. So, you probably won't see me pull any insane hp numbers.

Anyway, I'm happy just the same. So far, I'm right on track.

My best power was 233 hp. Here is the chart: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/user_gallery/sizeimage.php?&photoid=1075&width=3

My best torque was 511 ft/lb. Here is the chart:

Even though I looked like a dufus with an inside dual low on air, I had a great time. Here is the story:

Since I bought the truck, I have bump checked the drivers side inside dual because I could not get to the valve stem (tire guys didn't line up the wheels and I keep forgetting to line up). Just so happened it went flat on me. Speedworks was very kind to let me use their impact and air. A PSD guy let me use his floor jack and four-way (instead of digging mine out from under the seat). I broke his four-way (it was a Craftsman, warranty), so one of my fellow TDR members was kind enough to let me use his. I aired up the inside tire, properly reinstalled the outside, and ran the dyno.

I had a great time talking to Shrimpy, HillCountryKid and all the other guys that were there. :D

Great Time With Great Guys

I had a great time this weekend that was my frist get together and I had a blast. Not only was it fun but I also met a lot of interesting people who gave ame some good advice. (Jim I'm calling TST today to upgrade my plate thanks). watching to big boys(DON & CHRIS) was really cool maybe someday I will be close to that hp.

the old goat only made 287hp & 732 torque but its a start!

-chris-

sorry to hear about the trouble I feel really bad cuz I live in Ennis and if I had know would have hauled you home. don't feel bad mine did the same thing on that road a few years ago.

All and All great time cant wait till tulsa

drice

Be prepared for two problems with the #4, EGT's and the clutch, the #4 in the stock position will be close to the #8 all the way forward.

Jim

I ordered the plate and I think i am going to start it out at stock. now as far as I can tell south bend is the way to go but I need a little advice on which one.

I have looked at them and I see the differences but I don't know if the MU13-1. 25 Con. OFE is better then the MU0090 Con. O and why? They both say they will hold up to 400 hp but which is better.

any help would speed things up for me alot april 20th is comming up fast. :D

Daniel

I had a great time also. Was in town to see my sister after surgery, she is doing ok.

I really wanted to see large HP. And I did! Can you imagine... 450HP with just ole #2... You couldn't even see the lights in the shop after Don's dyno.

I was one of the guys who drove Jim's truck. DTT is every thing they say. A little pedal and lots of roll. Oo. Thanks Jim!

Chris sorry to hear about more problems... . hope your bad luck turns to GOOD luck!

I havent talked to Paul he is still out of state. He was very pleased with the numbers... . and pushing 400k :--) I am sure he will chime in when he gets back from CA.

Can you imagine going to Dallas for a Dyno event and meeting a local who also lived in BR for five years. Even knew the area where I live... :D

That kid with the camaro turning 500HP at 6500rpm... ... oh my gosh......

Jim, did the owners brother every run the Mustang with drugs? I left just after he ran his first run... .

Well... . if any of yall are going to the NASCAR race... . I will be back in Texas for that also... Maybe I will see you there

Dodge Won. . Oo. Oo.

I too had a great time at the Dallas area Dyno. No runs for me just observing and learning. I met up with Hill Country Kid in Corsicana and we caravaned the rest of the way. You could just start calling us Lewis and Clarke for our ability to NOT read a map (no one told us that hwy 121 crosses I-35 TWICE, and to take the SECOND exit :D :D  ). The trucks were great (Ford and Dodge) and the bull$hitting was even better.

Hey Chris, I feel for you. I left before you guys as I had to get back. I was driving an old Snap-On tool truck that dropped a ball joint at about 70 mph on HWY290 in Houston at mid day... ... . talk about loading your shorts :D :D .

Great numbers Don M. I also loved the smoke show!!!!

I didn't see the 500 hp camero, but the kid with the 420 hp one was pretty impressive.

Was great to meet every one!!!

Hey Shimpy, I was just following you.

It was funny to see that 416 HP Camaro dyno (which is impressive), and then look in the parking lot at Don's daully and think that big a$$ truck puts out more power. :D Again, nice truck Don.

Brian

I remember when the camaro hit 416... he tried it again and slipped the clutch real bad. He let it sit and tried two more times. I thought that they said 499 something. I could have misunderstood them... things were loud at the time. but he did try a few times after a cool down. Drugs do weird things and strange things... . lol

Hey Strick-9, you mentioned a worker for your dad that he slipped a clutch real bad and you took it easy and it came back to life... maybe he did come back and get the HP I thought they said.
