dyno and Ripon pull results

Barry the mustang wasn't impressive on the bottle, I don't remember the numbers. What you really missed was Don and Chris racing and covering up the highway with smoke, glad you enjoyed the test drive in my truck, I told James and Bill both it would be a test drive truck, now I need to get the reflash done. You also missed a flowerchoke I ate up going home, he tried to pass me so I bumped the throttle then pulled back, jumped on it a 70 and went around him at 100 so he pulled back for a while:D

Jim

P. S. you truck is chantting DTT:D

Alright just rolled in from Parker, Arizona. What a long drive. Snowed and rained from New Mexico non stop til Baton Rouge. 40 mph headwinds all the way out, can you say 9. 6 mpg at 75-80?? Had an awesome time at the dyno. Yes I was a slightly nervous virgin but NOW ADDICTED. 342/760 not bad for the old work truck. ;)

It was great seeing all the other addicts. :) I was wondering why the larger HP guys didn't have some add-ons you would expect, and realized if it did not make more HP it just wasn't needed.

Sorry about your mishap Chris. I got that t-shirt (transmission out 5 times in 7 months).

Nice seeing all the other TDR members and what they had done to their trucks and what they could do on the machine. I think we should find a machine that can load up the resistance to about 10-20k instead of 5k and see the numbers. I sure know towing a good load up a long grade at WOT sure can show you what you got. It is sometimes scary.

I didn't know Don and I raced.

Who won?

Me I hope. :) :)

Don's injectors make my 370's look like something out of a 6. 2.

Anyways, when is the next local dyno event? I'm in a mad search for lost power right now. As soon as I find it, I want a dyno to prove it with lots of people to verify.

Chris,

I was wondering what you had done about the piston and other problems you had with your truck???

In a drag race you would kill me with that auto.

I really like the injectors... I drove them to Houston and back while towing the trailer (8000 lbs) and no problems at all. They are sweet and less smoke than the 370's were giving me.

Course, I had a few bad 370's too. Looks like they were infected with some dirt... who knows were it came from. :D

I disassembled them and they are being tweaked as we speak.

I need a better clutch now:( This baby slips at about 480HP.

I think I may have found the limit of the Con O. It is much higher than Peter said it would ever hold though.

Here are a few pictures from Sat that a friend of mine took, that helped me work on the truck until 2AM before the dyno event the next morning.

Your truck is in there smokin like crazy too... .

BTW Don and Chris are awesome when it comes to makin' smoke!!:--) and the HP it takes to make it. No just off the shelf buy it and go, these two are getting in there and pushin' up the #'s with hard work and try.

Paul,

Yeah Me, Chris, Cord and others try all kinds of stuff to make more power, but I owe alot of thanks to Joe Donnelly and Piers.

Just about every idea I have tried... Joe has already and knows if it will help or hurt.

I have recently figured out that I do too much of the "me too" or "call and ask Joe or Piers" stuff. Its easy to get lazy and just pick up the phone. I need to use the noodle a bit more.

Example: I recently had a conversation with Joe about finding some boost leaks. I was trying to get them all tracked down one night and drilled and tapped my manifold to accept a fitting for compressed air. Of course I could hear air escaping somewhere and figured it to be through the intake valves. Well of course it was so I started barring the engine over to close the valves and get a seal. After a few minutes I was able to get the leaks to slow but never seal up.

I questioned Joe about the leaks and asked if there was ever a time when all the intake valves would be closed at the same time. Now, if I had thought this out... I would not have had to ask the question. Of course there is never a time when all the valves are closed at the same time or... ... ..... you can add the answer in here. I hung up feeling semi- retarded.

Deezul 1, thanks dude. we missed you at the event.

Brian,

thanks dude, glad to have meet you.

Shrimpy,

Don,

Sorry to here about that clutch, it is a GOOD thing though, right?Making more power is the correct way to be going!

I just so happen to have a fresh rebuilt, updated DRE Sachs that just got here a few days ago.

I would make you a screaming deal, for old times sake, and besides, you understand Joes products and how to use them.

My loss is your gain, but I feel it would be "paying it forward".

According to Joe, it should get you to the 600hp range, and after that you'll need a dual disc. Maybe by then there will be other choices, who knows.

Just thought I would offer it,

Gene:)

I'm overvalved!!!

One thing I learned is that you 12 valvers can make some very impressive hp numbers without a tremendous amount of parts. I tip my single valve cover to you!!

DonM,

I had to leave early, but I am determined to be there next time. I want to make a run with the EZ on #3, to get an actual measure of the increase in power. Plus, BS with everyone. The PSD guys even put my truck on their pics page posted above. Cool event!!!

Thanks. Your truck is not too shabby itself. Heck, any dodge with a Cummins engine looks just fine to me. The important stuff is under the wrapper. :)

I also had a great time talking to 777mechanic, Don M, HillCountryKid (Brian), and Chaw. Sorry if I left someone out.

My truck with DD2's and PE EZ made 293. 3/671. 5 on 6th gear pull.

I'll have to get my PE Comp box before April. Let's home the tax return looks good... :)
