Competition Dusted a powerstroke

Got a chance to drive MDW's new racer today, and all I can say is OMG. I drove it before the chop and narrow and new engine and this thing feels like it had a ton more power than the old truck, and the old truck ran 11. 23 on fuel only. Should be interesting to see the times the truck pulls when we get it dialed in on the track. :D :D

At first glance I thought it looked a lot like Hoss' Red rocket. Except his is an ext cab.

Actually, Nowel Thomas dubbed this truck the "Texas Red Rocket" back in 2000.

We were really looking forward to racing the big guy that year.

Nice job, guys.

Thanks Gene. Mike busted his rump getting it ready for the Texas race, but we didn't have enough time to get it race ready.

The little turbo is a Garrett GT double ball bearing series, not sure what stage it is though. The bottom is a stock HT3B, 26 housing I believe.

MDW would be the guy to ask.

New Pics and UNAUTHORIZED Video

Here are a few pics from last Sunday. Truck is still being refined, getting better all the time. Still amazes me that it is a street legal and street driven truck. Drove the 40-50 miles to HRP and home.

Here is an unauthorized Shake Down day teaser video. You will have to ask MDW for the rest.

Congratulations a great hot rod street truck.

IMO it adds a whole new level of innovation to build a truck like this and keep it street legal. I love this stuff.

Two questions, if you don't mind.

What does it weigh and what gears (ratio) are you running?

Thanks for great thread and pictures.

It was fun to watch the run and Michael afterwards, he was still going fast:D.

Here is a video of the run. The uh camera man was a little shaky, he was watching the truck and not the camera:-laf.

BTW Curtis,

I ran 12s all runs with best of 12. 600s @ 107+mph. Still testing different combos and waiting on the TNT-R software from Bob. It should get me to 12. 5s with just the added fueling through OD shift. I was in street trim, so I can loose around 150lbs pretty easy. Hmmm wonder what the bottle would do for me. At least once anyway:eek:
