Hey, go ugly early, and you'll never be lonely. I showed the photos to a buddy who is a die-hard Chevy guy, and he didn't believe that was actually the new truck. He thought it was a joke... and it is.

I guess I'm the only one who likes it so far. I think that truck is going to look really good with a little lift and bigger tires/wheels. I do not like it in stock form though as it's out of proportion. I can't wait to see one that's black'd out with proper tires on it like my photoshop version.

I see that RAM goes away from the epic Gen2 Style more and more, and comes closer to the mainstream with every new Gen.
And that is a bad bad idea, they have been there at the beginning of the 90th and almost got out of business with that generic design.
If RAM comes to close to Ford and Chevy - people will always buy Ford and Chevy. Has been that way all the time.

Just my opinion so don't anyone get butt hurt, lol I grew up in the 50's, has anyone ever seen an attractive Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth or Desoto of that era? Even the pickups of the 60's and 70's were homely, same with IHC. Then the beds would fall off of them....

When the Cummins showed up in the Dodge, I was still anti Dodge so I bought an engine and installed it in my Ford. I was so impressed with it I bought a '91 D-250 and never looked back, I am a solid Dodge truck guy now.

When Ford made the model switch on the pickups from '72-'73 I was at first appalled. The '73-79 is awesome now!

Thanks for your reply KC. Makes sense it might be for new technology. And I would not know about that. I still have a flip phone that does more things than I know how to do. Like take photos.

I guess I like the 5th Gen body style as I bought my wife a 2019 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7L gasser. I've owned 1st Gen thru 4th Gen Ram Diesels and like all of them, but my favorite was the 2nd Gen style. Like all the previous Gens, there are those of us that like them immediately, some that it grows on them, and then the ones who will never like them. the biggest vote cast is at the dealership when purchasing. There may be other attributes, like 400 HP and 1000 Lb Ft of TQ that may make folks like them more.

Cheers, Ron

it looks like the current '19-'20 trucks would be considered 4.5th Gen trucks without a major body redesign (grill only). Does anyone know when the true 5th gen trucks will be released with a full blown redesign of the cab?

I think 2021 is the official 5th HD gen changeover... I may be wrong though.

comrade ! what happened with that? the 684 miles? yikes! cheers!

It had a vibration from day one... Bought it on 8/24/19 and then dropped it off at service on 8/27/19... Got it back on 9/3/19 with no difference.... Brought it back to service on 9/9/19 and never got it back. Got a fat check from Ford on 10/24/19 and that was that. I thought I was going to have the best of both worlds but was soooooo slapped in the face with "There is only ONE truck in this world and that is the Dodge/RAM CTD!" Anyways.... That thing sucked in the fuel economy zone AND the interior looked and felt like Ford contracted Rubbermaid to design and make it.

I'll never stray again so help me whoever....

But all in all - RAM could learn a lot how to handle customer satisfactory problems from Ford. That was decent reaction from them, Hell.

Don't judge Ford by that successful outcome. I have had prolonged battles with them, and was treated very poorly. Same with GM.
