04.5 Electrical Problems - Loosing all power

would my stock cp3 be enough with Don m's 40 sticks

Got my truck back with the new Super B special on and did a dyno run to compare EGTs with stock turbo and the drop is very nice. A few things I noticed over stock:

The turbo spools smooth and power rolls on smoother than before, the EGTs are very controllable now, with the TST on 7-3 I only saw 1150 degrees and 397 RWHP

With TST on 8-3 pyro hits 1200 and 415 RWHP Before the motor could peak due to running out of Fuel  So Fass system is now on order to take care of that.

When on the road the trucks power rolls on smoother than before. The stock turbo and TST on 5-2 I would get a little lag then Boom it would hit 35lbs boost and pull

With the Super B Special the power rolls on and pulls hard, its a different lag compared to stock,( I consider lag to be the gutless feeling you get before the turbo spools) This turbo does not give me that feeling, the turbo doesnt just go from lag to lighting up like the stock one, it builds boost quik and takes off

Looking at some old Dyno runs the TQ curve with stock turbo peaked sooner than the new turbos Dyno run, which makes sense as it takes more to spool a bigger turbo.

While cruising down the freeway at 65 boost reads 0 but hit the go pedal and 45lbs boost right now.

Dont plan on huffing any smoke, I dialed the TST to 7-7 to see if it would smoke but all it did was a small puff a second then hit 45lbs boost and took off with a clear smokless trail

I see some new 75HP injectors in my future ;)

I may even consider stacking my TST with something but for some reason this just seems wrong to me

I am looking forward to towing my 5er next week and see how it does. Oo.

Although now I have to sell my Pacbrake cause it wont fit on this turbo

Sounds like fun!! I'm looking at getting one as well. Trying to get into the 450-500 range. Your last name wouldn't be Allen by any chance? I was just at Imler Diesel and they had just dyno'ed an 03 stick and I saw the printout at 415hp with a new Super B. Before the turbo goes on, I need to install some Glacier fun stuff.

That special is an awesome turbo! I just sent one to a guy up in Washington and am waiting to hear his results.

Nice numbers! Give her a little more fuel and you'll be safely in the 450hp range. Were you monitoring FP at the time? How low?

Again, nice numbers!

That would be me.

You lucky man!! Next time your at Ken's ask him about the 04. 5' "*******" truck. He'll know what you mean. I have parts from an 03,04,05 with a build date of July 04. I was

just there having him service my diffs. I'm leaning more towards the Special everyday over a Phat Shaft 62. Before any of this is done, I need to put on that Walbro.

I considered the Walbro but after plenty of reading I am going to go with the new silent Fass.

Does that mean... Now you will keeping with your 22. 5s with all that extra boost and linear TQ curve or have you taken them off already? :-laf :-laf :-laf

Nope I already took off the 22. 5s and they are sitting in the garage

If I had maybe 4. 63 gears I would keep the 22. 5s on but with 3. 73s it makes my gearing to Tall for towing my 5er.

It towed ok with the 22. 5s up over the mountains, and 50-55 would be about the slowest the hills would get me down, but with stock tire size I could do 70-80 on almost any hill and pull out on a uphill from behind a big rig at 35mph and just take off up hill with no problems, but not with the 22. 5s and 3. 73 gears. That is a poor towing combo.

But it LOOKED AWSOME :D

Sometimes I say "Its not how you do it, Its how you LOOK doing it" :-laf

Daytripper- You planning on keeping them 22. 5's? What size tires are on them? One of my customers may be interested if you want them gone. He is looking at 19. 5 and 22. 5's for his new Mega Cab Dually. Can't beat it when you find a set locally!

I'm glad you like yours. I LOVE mine!! I made a similiar thread to yours here . Mine is on a heavily fueled 97 12v.

BTW a friend of mine has an 03 non-HO, with a 5-speed, and the HOT juice w/attitude, and his truck dynoed 440. 5 rwhp and like 750-ish torque on Dave Dunbar's dyno :D . This is just a little food for thought, not meaning that it is better than your TST---maybe a possible stack?? ;)

I remember reading your post when I was trying to figure out what I wanted, and for the dyno run I figure there is more power to be had but on the 415HP run the rail ran dry and so could not try any higher settings on TST. Hopefully I will have a FASS soon and then run it again

I couldn't see your rail going dry at 415hp. . I run the PS62, and 90hp Dynomite Diesel injectors with my BDDL. I have never dynoed my truck, but the diesel garage calculator reports my rwhp is well over 500 with a trap speed of 101. 6 mph at a raceweight of 8,040 pounds. As yours, mine lets out a puff of smoke at first, and then clears up. I'm very happy with my DDP injectors. I tow with the truck on a normal basis, and all is good now for about 20,000 miles. .

I can..... With just my bddl on 130 and my 90 hp dd injectors I have no problems... With just my tst and 90 hp injectors it does not feel as strong as the bddl cause the rail runs dry it feels like it wants to take off and then it boggs... The TST just fuels hard. .

Plus I have 50,000+ miles on the stock lift pump and have run a box or TST since day 1 and I am sure the pump is not as strong as when new
