My '99 now has new VP, different ECM, started once and not again. . Good mechanic working on it but not super well versed on Dodges now said he heard from someone that ECM not communicating with dash and is looking for loose or cut wire someplace in harness. .
This started when I took truck to have somebody change the steering gearbox. . took it out for a test drive, brought it back in and it wouldn't start. . I went and checked it out-fuel pump would only run for a blip when trying to start it. . Has always had an issue of needing a lot of cranking if sitting 15 minutes or longer. . So I can't know if fuel pressure was good when he drove it in his shop. The guy working on the truck surmised that the ECM didn't tell the fuel pump to pump fuel and so it fried the VP. .
Anybody know of a way to short out a wire, jumper wire or ??? to get it running so the problem can be isolated????? The thought of a new wiring harness when there could be a fix somehow is scary... ... Mark
PS-looks like I hafta change my sig-there is a full set of gauges, too. .
