WOW HPS, but I think you're holding out on us Is that the back of a roundhouse in the middle picture? Do you have a turntable? Good example of the great details in HO, which is also 1/64 correct?

The pencil purpose is simple the Cab Forward engine sometimes is a difficult beast, and I use the pencil to un-couple the magnet couples, so I can pull out of the way rather than haul forty reefer cars all the way down to lower deck to my repair yard. Wayne that round house contains five smaller diesels that are use as locals spot cars at different business, the lower deck area there are about 14 tracks for different freight cars, passenger trains and of course more engines, roughly have fifteen or so engines, scale is 1/87

So the roundhouse is another jewel of project, there is power in the tracks inside the house, as well as to all the tracks outside, the track is ac power, and each engine has at least one chip to convert to d/c for slow moving, several have two chips so that they are capable of twenty-eight functions the turn table is power and stops at each track position, there is building that I lift up to change direction's on the turntable, the lower deck has enough room for all the engines and cars as most of the yard tracks are eight feet long.

I have Ho train setup at both places, the pictures are for Bay Area one, these buildings all have lights inside, the Roundhouse has four lights inside just example each light I can increase or decrease as the case, looks way cool at night with the passenger trains running down the tracks and freight trains.

We now place a Lionel train around the tree very year (Pennsylvania Flyer, of course).

Our family loves trains. The kids are big now, but we had all kinds of trains all over when they were small: wooden toys, plastic toys, Lego, ...

We love going to train places. Seven years ago we took the Amtrak auto train from Lorton, VA to Sandford, FL - awesome trip. We have been to Steamtown. we have ridden all kinds of excursion trains in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Our favorite is the Cass Scenic railroad in West Vrginia, which runs Shay locomotives from the years of the logging boom.

This thread popped up at the perfect time. A family friends' grandson was given a set, handed down from an aunt. They're Bloomingdales commerative Lionel trains. According to my wife they're 027 gauge, 1 of 500 sets made. The boy is 5 and can't leave them alone. It's good to know some things never change.

This is great but I think I'd swap out that rare set for a more modern set that could be played with.
I did some checking on Cass, and I just may head down there. Seems like 1/2 way to Dolly from here, which has her own great train ride.

You're probably right but I've never seen a 5 year old like him. He treats this train with such reverence I think it would break his heart to swap them.
