The price gouging begins/shame on you

Flying J went up 22 cents overnight and I am sure the rest of the sleazy fuel industry will be right there taking advantage of a national disaster to gouge their fellow Americans. If there was anyway to not deal with these sleaze balls I would take it.

I have heard several reports of gas prices ranging between $4 and $6 in central Indiana. I'm still at work, so I haven't seen it for myself. Unbelievable day...

As of 6:30 p. m. EDT it was still $1. 45/gal for diesel in my part of Kentucky. Doc Tinker reported prices of $3. 00/gal or more, in Michigan, around 5:00p. m. in the GLTDR chat room... . I went and filled up, it will get me through to next week. Freakin' & Deakin' here right now thinking of having to pay $100 per fillup, can you say "drive-off", boys and girls?

Up to $4. 00 a gallon is some part of MI currently. It is a bit premature to jump prices that quick, especially that high.

We just filled up 10 minutes ago - $1. 73 for gas, $1. 69 for diesel - no change yet. But I heard it's at $8. 00/gal in northerm WI!

I was at the truckstop here just east of Dallas and the price was still 1. 34.

As we were paying for our fuel the price went to 1. 75.

One of the gals that work there told me the owner called and said "turn off the majority of the pumps until I can get there and raise the price". The SOB was holding back fuel until he arrived to change the price!!!



Some truckers were saying the CB's were going crazy in OKlahoma and the price was reported anywhere from 6 to 8 bucks in different cities. I have a transfer tank in my truck and it helps get from Idaho to Dallas without having to pay crazy fuel prices in different states. You bet I filled it up tonight! Neighbor came over and balled me out for doing it, said I was hording.

Maybe so... I just cant pay 6 bucks a gallon to go to San Antonio Thursday.

What a mess.

Our new Gov. just put the kabosh on the gougers! Gave the public 2 800 numbers to call if price gouging is encountered! I just pulled up Flying J's web site and they are back down from the 1. 80 they were this afternoon... ..... Suck egg mules!!!!!!! Truck stop hostages!!!!!! I ran out and took on 120 gallons at 1. 33. 9 this afternoon.

Do not buy fuel unless you absolutly have to. There is panic buying all over America. The refineries and pipelines are still running and supplys are good. We have panic buying in our little town over hour waits at local gas stations... ...

Price gouging is simply robbery without a gun.



They deserve whatever extreme measures "we the people" can bring against them!

On my way home last night there were lines at the gas stations, but the price had not gone up yet. It was 1. 77 for 87. This morning they have bags over the nozzles (they're out) and the price was at 1. 99 for 87 at the Shell station, still 1. 77 at Casey's. I WILL NOT GO TO SHELL HERE ANYMORE.



The fuel they are selling was purchased/refined before any cost effects from yesterday's tragedies could have had an effect. These station owners should be VERY ashamed for obviously taking advantage of such a terrible thing.



Our lousy governor promises to do something. I'll believe it when I see it. He has been flapping his lips about gas prices for a long time. We can choose who not to purchase from though.



Whatever happened to good old-fashoined public hanging? Just kidding, but people get away with too much these days.

This morning I paid $ 1. 51 here in Texas. That is up from a few days ago. I later saw a ststion at $ !. 41.

If any stations are really charging a lot, they must be owned by Ragheads.
