I signed up yesterday to donate. Most of us at work are going to as soon as they call. As of yesterday, they had such a large response, they couldn't take any more.

I question the patriotism of the corporate vultures and individuals in the oil business who are responsible for raising prices like this while America is grieving. I would stop short of calling them terrorists, but make no mistake about it, my anger toward thieves like them is nearly as great as my anger towards murderers...

How lucky for Texas that they are organized enough to combat price gouging ! The rest of us have to suffer with self-serving state legislatures that only care about raising taxes to pay for their perks and state-owned vehicles...

gouging us for anything!! eventually all our money for fuel goes back to the ragheads. has stinking Kuwait ever paid us back for saving their stinking butts? yeah, by screwing us at the pumps.

they said theywould pay us back for the "war" and they have.

I just heard this on the news.



The prices of gasoline and other fuels are already set from the day before. Since the stock exchange has been closed, only one petroleum company had raised it's price 12¢ and had reduced it back down before mid-night Tuesday. That means that it's unlawful for any station to raise it's fuel prices without them being set from the stock exchange. The news was interviewing a gas station chain owner and he showed on his stocks computer that the prices have been the same for the last 2 days. The store owner said that the government has such stiff penalties for price gouging that he doesn't understand why business owners would take that chance on ruining there livelyhood.



The news also said that if anyone sees price gouging going on to immediately contact your local Better Business Bureau or Government agency to report them. Price gouging is considered a Federal offense and the store owners can face stiff fines and jail time.



If you see it then Report the B#%#*&^%!!

Here in Texas we have a grocery chain called HEB and they dropped their price 2 cents. If I didnt already do all my shopping there I darn sure would now, ATTABOY HEB.

From CNN.com: Will I pay more at the pump?



Rumors of gas shortages pushed gasoline prices higher in parts of the country Tuesday, but experts say there is not and should not be a shortage. There's nothing to suggest the possibility of nationwide price shocks or gas rationing.



"There should be no significant consumer impact from this situation," said Chris Kelley, spokesman for the American Petroleum Institute. "There is a bountiful gasoline supply in this country. We condemn unscrupulous gouging, and I think there are signs that it will cease pretty quickly. "



Consumers have been hoarding gasoline in the Midwest, said Tom Kloza, a spokesman for the Oil Price Information Service. "But there's nothing to suggest the possibility of nationwide price shocks or gas rationing," he said. "Nothing like what we saw with the Arab oil embargo and the Iranian Revolution. "

On my way home last night there were lines at the gas stations, but the price had not gone up yet. It was 1. 77 for 87. This morning they have bags over the nozzles (they're out) and the price was at 1. 99 for 87 at the Shell station, still 1. 77 at Casey's. I WILL NOT GO TO SHELL HERE ANYMORE.



The fuel they are selling was purchased/refined before any cost effects from yesterday's tragedies could have had an effect. These station owners should be VERY ashamed for obviously taking advantage of such a terrible thing.



Our lousy governor promises to do something. I'll believe it when I see it. He has been flapping his lips about gas prices for a long time. We can choose who not to purchase from though.



Whatever happened to good old-fashoined public hanging? Just kidding, but people get away with too much these days.

The Shell I mentioned has now dropped its' price back to $1. 77, probably due to the pressure of everyone's anger about the subject. I still won't go there again. Also, I hear the state of IL has actually filed suit against 13 different stations for the gouging. Wow, I'm impressed. Last night on the news they showed stations in OK with $4 gas!

Diesel Jumped 20 cents to a $1. 89 and gas was at $1. 69 at Sap Bros. Down town gas jumped to $1. 89 except for Cenex (COOP) They raised their sign to $2. 71, I heard the County Clerk had gone home to change and came back into town the price had jumped from $1. 69 to the $2. 71, She went in to ask what was up and they told her that they just changed the sign to keep supply for their regular costomers. Then she proceded to call the State or Transportation dept. and turned them in.



I had heard that North platte had raised to $2. 00 + and Kearney was over $5. 00.



Yesterday evening I drove by the Local Sap Bros and they lowered Diesel to $1. 68 and raised gas to $1. 89 (were every one else is at).



Now I have to go to North Platte this weekend for Training and am not sure to use the Car (gas) or my Cummins?



I hope everyone drives safe and watch out for price gouging.

Just drove through N. Platte on Sept 12th in the afternoon and the price seems stable. I would stick with the almighty CUMMINS



For the most part prices were pretty stable on the drive back. Most I saw was $1. 79 in NE Colorado and the cheapest was $1. 49 in Penn.

Heard about a Conoco station here in town that had jacked prices up to $3. 00...



Somehow, during the night a large vehicle had backed over the four pumps destroying them.



Guess they ain't gonna sell no more gas outta there for awhile.

Panic buying plays right into the gougers hands. Things will settle down some and if not we will bite the bullet if necessary but not for some scumbag that wants to make a fast buck. String them up by their thumbs in the public square. Same with all the hoaxes prying on the greiving.
