The real war in Iraq

Just in case there is anyone here interested, I killed another 2 insurgents last night. We were patroling our sector, when 4 guys jumped out from behind a building and fired an RPG (rocket propelled grenade) at us. Thankfully the RPG went high by few feet, so I swung my turret over on them and opened up with my coax machine gun. I managed to kill two as the other two ducked behind cover and escaped. After securing the site and investigating the bodies, we discovered that they were probably in their early teens. No older than 16. I am guessing that they were brothers and that the one that fired the RPG was their father. I think they came along to help him reload. It probably won't make the news on CNN, but everytime i have a close encounter with and RPG it is news worthy to me.

A couple things about this thread have me thinking.

First... This is your first post in a truck newsgroup, and you are taking about the number of kills you have. I dont know of anyone that wants to brag about this, let alone in an open forum. Most of the military personnel I know do everything they can to forget about it.



I suggest you check with your OPSEC, and your Information Operations Officer before you post.

This is actually my fourth post on this site. For some reason it is not keeping track of the number of post that i make, and i dont really care. I dont gain any status from having 9873987982732 posts under my name. Secondly, I am certainly not bragging about the number of kills that i have. Again, I gain no status from it. The purpose of the post was merely informational to those out there that might be interested in what they dont see on the news. It is nothing as sensational as vbied's(car bombs) killing 30 people in the green zone. It is, none the less, important to those of us that get shot at on a daily basis. The only sense of pride i derive from killing people is that they are trying to kill me, and I am still here to post about it.

Crappy News Network, what a joke. All the reporters/commentators have a personal agenda they want to shove down your throat. CNN Asia is even worse. I'd like to rap that crooked smile Brit in the chops.



How about it Cowboy ? Why not start up a BLOG thread and get others in-country to contribute ? Just tell us what happened, not what is going to happen.

Thanks for the support guys. It means a lot to us over here to know that some folks back home still care about what we are doing over here. I will try to keep you up to date with the more "insignificant" happenings over here that don't make it on the news. As JConley mentioned, I do have some OPSEC rules that I have to follow. Rest assured that anything i post won't compromise any current or future planned operations, and I won't post any real names.
