There is a lot of talk about Antifreeze. HOAT or OAT I need to change mine. What do I need to use ?

Had great luck with the MOPAR OEM fill on my 04, changed at 100k,... and it was still clean when I sold it at 193k, not sure I'd deviate from that but other's may have experimented more, every time I had to do something on the cooling system, I evacuated out with a mightyvac, and filtered back in, then toped off. Never any issues.

I believe they used HOAT until either 2011 or 2012 after that OAT... In my 06 I used Zerex GO5 HOAT, buy the concentrated & mix with Distilled water (its cheaper to mix your own)... Do Not use TAP Water...

That stuff is OAT what I just used the other day to top off my rad in my 2022, when I did my 06 was also told by local Mopar shop to not mix OAT in with the HOAT that was already in my cooling system...

Agree on buying concentrate and distilled water to mix yourself! Saves you some coin! Saw tip to wash out a DEF container and use that to mix in. Pour in a gal of anti and distilled, shake then pour. Then whats left, you can put back into antifreeze container and mark it as mixed for top off. I'm using the Super Tech with no issues. Been in 30K, 3-4 years now. Will be changing out in spring to replace hoses and changing to aluminum Y's. Also got T-bolt hose clamps for all junctions. Like the way that they don't dig into the hose when tight and nyloc nut to not back off! Most important is to change it out as regular maintenance item. Either pre-mixed or concentrate with RO/distilled water is so important! Never use tap water!!!!!!!!!!! I can so you what happens when tap water is used! Still cleaning a rad on a tractor that wasn't cared for to well before I got it. Getting better, but still some build up!

A dealer who shall remain un-named serviced my truck with a green antifreeze when the original owner owned it, about 4 or 5K before I bought it. I spend most of a week flushing the system with Cummins flushes, replacing the thermostat (and later replacing it again with a genuine Cummins thermostat due to the NAPA one sticking). I refilled the system with Zerex GO-5 which is the compatible replacement for the OEM coolant, and put a label on the radiator support to always use Zerex GO-5 in the cooling system. I don't drive the truck much and it takes ages for the coolant level in the bottle to stabilize (cold).

FYI, even Zerex makes Green and other colors of anti freeze, I'm going to assume you meant Prestone, the reason I know Zerex has green because I just put some in my 2022 that is combatable with the OEM coolant...

I didn't mean any brand in particular, just that it had Green antifreeze in it. Having no idea what it might be and knowing a dealer had done it when they replaced a water pump for the owner while he was away from home, I had to assume the worst and flush the system. It may have been perfectly acceptable antifreeze, just that I had no way of knowing as the dealer invoice did not say.

Got it, its a good idea when in comes to anti freeze that when doubt flush it out that way you know for sure what you have and if its wrong you have no one to blame but yourself...
