Justin -

This will be sweet!!!

I won't tie prices but if it were me:

- T-Rex

- Mach 3s

- Turbo (what about the BB the ATS guy told us about at the rally in Denver?), KSB1 would be a great single option too

- SBC

- COMP/TST

- H20/Meth

- Cam and O-ring

You are at about 6K feet right? I think that is going to be the only problem with ++++fuel and ----smoke.

what about towing?

Let me know when I can come over and help!

When i was at 490hp with B1 large housing single turbo,I was winding the pyro around as fast as the speedo needle. I also had steady trail of smoke wide open. Its easy to get 500hp with twins and EGTs are very manageable. Now if i could just keep the head in place on my truck id be fine:D

NONE of it is NECESSARY, but it does help and gives the coolness points ;)

For ultimate coolness points, I'm waiting for someone to put an intercooler between the twin turbos. :)

All the quotes for $1700-1900 are for dual disk clutches.

I'd be hesitant to say that even a stock diamter SBC FE would hold the abuse of 500RWHP but if you've got that much HP go with a dual disk and be done with it. Ryan just got Twins and he's slipping his 13" FE clutch. Also I don't think the 12" FE is that cheap... . pretty sure its more than $880.

I understand why it would be so high now if you are getting dual disks. Oh and by the way, I did only pay $880 for my Con FE;)

Interesting. I looked at their site and didn't see anything to indicate that these turbos were BB turbos.

And for the price of $1600 a piece (what a B1 costs), I can't see getting a decent BB turbo for that cheap.

Nonetheless, they certainly merit consideration. Is anyone running these or are they just out now?

The more I think about twins, the more I want to stay with a single. I may be losing my senses, but the cost increase seems to be past the point of diminishing returns. i don't have access to fab stuff, so I would be looking at a kit and that's at least $3500. Let's see, I can get a single that will support 500hp easy for $1600. Or I can spend twice as much money for another 100hp worth of air. I'm never going to be the big dog, so i might as well spend the dough on something I can benefit from EVERY DAY-- like the T-rex.

So here's the list right now:

T-rex w/ mini leafs: $3300

PMAX comp w/ remote: $700

EDMs (3. 5): $900

Turbo: $1600

SBC: $1000

Exhaust: $450

Intake: $200

Voila! There's $7150 and 500HP, AND i get T-rex too!! Maybe the rest could go towards a winch bumper!

Justin, I'd spend that extra cash on the clutch. The FE is one serious clutch to deal with, if you can swing a dual disc, GO FOR IT!!!

Justin

Congrats on the promotion!

Nice list! Don't blame you one bit for wanting a T-Rex. It's on my "when I win the lottery" list.

Might want to save some for a head job!

And, Don't forget, with that list you get a free bonus - lots of extra smoke! At your altitude I would bet that anything less than a Kwik Spool B-1 would leave a hell of a cloud!

Do you want a race truck w/ a 6spd. or a BA daily driver, I would say to put this in the figures,

1. Ks B1 $ 1500

2. Mach 2. 5 edms $ 800

3. Dual disk clutch $ 1700

4. Comp Drag $ 700

5. exhaust $400

6. Your T-rex system $3300

7. AFE Megacannon $210

8. Holly Black to replace stock LP $ 140

Sell Ez and DD2's +$750

$ 8000 Total

= A BA daily driver with 450 hp and a cadillac ride.

A race truck with a six speed? Isn't that a contradiction in terms? Shoot, I could have 600hp with my 5600 and lose to a DTT guy with only 450hp. You just can't row them that fast. Not to mention losing boost each time you shift.

I am thinking a BA daily driver. Daily driver and 6K feet elevation means spoolup is a real priority.

I talked to Rod, and I am thinking I should just go smaller and get the spoolup. A KSb1-b lightning should support 425-430hp easily and spool like an HY-9.

If I want more later, then I could twin it.

The real wrinkle is that almost ALL cylinder heads are cracked when they are sent out to get o-ringed. So I would like to avoid headwork altogether until I can get it done right.

What is "right"? I'd say Don M's approach of a brand new Marine head with hardened seats is a good starting point. Unfortunately, it's not cheap! I think over $2k is what the gonig rate is!
