I like the Blue Chip cover myself, but with regards to posi-locks, they are awesome!

They are nothing like a scotch lock as far as I am concerned. I have put posi's on various wiring situations and you can hang from the connection. And that's the real key, you are getting a good mechanical and a good electrical connection that will not pull apart or come loose.

Now, all that said, moisture can and will effect the wiring the same way as all other tap types. That's why I prefer th cover. One thing that would help is tinning the wire prior to using the posi-lock, but it's tough to make that one worked out. Now if only the Ram wiring was all tinned marine grade, now that would be the ticket!!

DM shared a Posi-lock with me and it is by far the highest quality wire tap device that I have seen. The Blue Chip covers are certainly a good product for tapping our pumps, especially if warranty is an issue. But for an economical solution and ease of use, the posi-locks are great. A couple short shots of dielectric grease should take care of moisture concerns.

I found the Posi-Taps at Wal-Mart for $2. 84 for a pack of four. They're labeled "Trailer Light Tap" at the top and the connectors are black for 12-18 gauge wire, which is all they had. You have to look closely to ever see "Posi-Tap" on the package.

They look really nice - I'll be sure to use one when I add my TST in a couple of weeks.

On posi-taps website it says avalible at Wal-mart ... . I went to wal-mart .com and did a search for posi-tap and didnt get anything ... . so I thought that maybe they didnt have them yet ... but I guess they do... cool

DM

I went to a wally-world that was supposed to have them and they didn't.

I ordered them from Geno's instead. They're also great for gauge installs and such. I've been using them for a while now.

So how come when *I* recommended them for tapping the wire, everyone ignored me? Oh well, maybe someday I'll be one of the "in" crowd of TDR

i think the blue chip cover sucks!!!!!!!!crank the screw all the way down an still does not tap wire! piece of s **t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
