Thanks for all the good advice on my other posts.
Been thinking about a new truck for about a year and a half and picked one up last night.
My biggest decision was a 2500 vs 3500 and glad I went big.
A 2500 would have been sufficient to tow my TH, but I like slide in campers and will eventually get another and the test drive sealed the deal. Definately a "firm" ride but better than I expected and fine for a DD.
Truck is a 15 3500 Tradesman 4x4 SB SRW Aisin, White color
Chrome and comfort package, U-connect 5.0, protection group, 220 amp alt, OWL tires, backup camera/sensor,trailer brake.
Sticker price was $54,310 and I bought it for $45,310. $9k off sticker and what I think was a fair trade for my 13 1500 Ram. I tried for a little more but they were sticking to their guns. I'm happy with the deal so I guess thats all that matters.
I like the tight firm feel of the truck and even though it isn't as quick as my Hemi, I like the power. Just have to remember it's a diesel and almost 8k lbs.
One difference I noticed with the Aisin over the 68rfe is the lower first gear. Feels slower off the line, but if you give it a second or two to shift to second then it feels the same and pulls like a freight train.
Driving about 50 miles from Lancaster to Van Nuys, the evic showed 25.6 mpg. I took it easy and drove about 65 mph and it's a lot of down hill but pretty impressive. Even after driving another 50 miles mostly in town it's only dropped to 19.2. Better than my Hemi ever did. I could easily see low 20's mpg highway driving.
One thing I didn't expect was a shift from 6th to 5th on the freeway at 65 with CC on. It was on a slight hill and pretty windy but I thought with that much torque it would never down shift. Must be the 3:42s and maybe the low rpm at 65 (1450 rpm)
I don't find this truck any harder to manuever and park than my 1500. It's only 8" longer and I had a shell on the 1500. Back up camera is great and I love the E brake.
Had the bed Linexed today and definately need some steps, this truck is high off the ground.
I think this truck will last me many years. Should pull my TH a little better than the 1500
I know it didn't happen without pictures, but I'm techno challenged and posting pics is probably above my skill level. LOL

I hate you.

Seriously, congrats. If I could have afforded the $8k uptick in the price, I'd have one instead of the 6.4 Hemi. Maybe in another 70k miles I'll be able to trade up (two years at this rate). However a lot can change in two years, and they may have a lemon model out by then, and I'll be screwed.

So. where are the pictures ?

Pretty simple to post

Hope this helps, once you have done this several times it gets pretty easy

My 2010 1/2 ton is the ST (current Tradesman package). I couldn't be happier with the way it is equipped. I only wish you could order fog lights with that package level.

Congrats, OP. Can't wait for pics, and glad to hear you're pleased with ride. I have a new 3500 DRW on order with air ride, and I'm very curious about ride.

Days to go

I have not heard of anyone receiving a rear ride 3500. Anyone???

Did you mean air ride?

The one I ordered in October is arriving at my dealer tomorrow, hope to pick it up before year end. Will post pics and a review of the air ride after I have a chance to tow some.

Ordered 3500 SLT 4X4 SRW aisin air ride.

HA, yes!

Really looking forward to your report. Mine should be 3-5 weeks out.

Here's an attempt to load a photo of my 2014 RAM 3500 dually

It took 7 weeks to build my 2014 RAM 3500 dually from the time Chrysler received my order. Trust me when I say 'It was well worth the wait.' RAM has the best support system in place and what other manufacturer do you know of with forums that can help answer questions about anything associated with your vehicle?

If you have to tow like I do, you will appreciate that RAM is offering the CUMMINS engine and AISIN transmission. Every time I hook up to my fifth wheel, I don't have to worry about whether I am going to be safe or not. It feels smooth and comfortable and provides me with the best fuel mileage I could ask for.

I'll warn you, I've been known to be a bad influence. My neighbor traded in his Ford F350 DRW for his newer 2013 Ram 3500 DRW after riding in my 2014 RAM 3500 DRW. (We both tow fifth wheel trailers) SBR
