My trip to Ground Zero, NY w/ pics

New WTC? *LOL*

It is not as simple as Dem VS. Rep.

It is right VS. wrong, no matter what party.

My Union has finally figured this out, and they now support LEGISLATION, not parties. They learned this after 8 years of Clintons lies to them.

We can not make the world idiot-proof, or 100% safe at all times.

The best we can do is let the people have the Freedoms they were born with to defend themselves against those who steal, rape, murder.

There is a lot of "displaced Democrats" If they would back off gun-control and the old "tax and spend" mentality, a lot of different parties would be glad to have them.

Don,

I always find it amusing when I'm 'fighting"(Loosely used term) a guy on one thread, and backing him up on another. This probably comes from me reading posts and not reading who the poster is!

I am sure that I can be faulted for at least appearing to target individuals in my posts, I do not intend that; I also do not intend to brand all "democrates" as wrong or evil (I was one, as was my whole family, untill about age thirty five when I began to really think about politics) . My very strong feeling stem from the fact that I see a very consistent thread of thought and action from portions of the left that seem to me to in a very real sense undermine and cripple the ideals that have long been the real foundation of this nation; individual freedon and as much as freedon individual responsibility.

Sure I am a hunter and gun owner, but gun control is in my view much more than gun control--it is people control. It is a signal that government wants greater control of its "subjects": we are not subjects, we are the country and the ever growing ever intruding government is slowly changing us from being the country to being subjects of the government.

When I speak on this subject, it is out of a strong belief and fear that a substantial segment of the leadership of the left really does want to continuously shift more and more power and control from the people to the government, that sort of control is inconsistent with allowing private ownership of guns. Sure they say that they do not want to take away the hunting arms, but I do not believe that; they are practicing a gradualism that is becoming worrisom.

But it is also not only about guns; education is another area where control by the liberal wing enables them to "preach" their theory of control to our children------I could go on and on---but in short I see us fighting a war for our principles, ideals and values, and yes our freedom.

It is hard to discuss this sort of thing as if the other side was in good faith; I am confident that while many on the other side in good faith believe their actions are for the best, I also believe there are many in their leadership who are not.

If I become over zealous it is not out of spite for individuals, but out of strong feeling that we (our country) and our values are at risk.
