Anybody know how to get a hold of "Tim the transmission Guy",. . I think that is his name and he is out of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area? A phone number would be great and a web site if you have it. NEED HELP PLS!!!!!!!!!

If you need transmission help call Dave Goerend, unless you have to talk to that guy specifically about something else. Goerend Brothers is in St. Lucas Iowa and you can't beat his customer service.

I went to that forum and joined so I could send him an e-mail. I read a few transmission threads and it seemed obvious that Tim Again was the guy I was seeking. Is his name Tim Holt? I had spoken to him probably a year ago and everything he told me was exactly what damage that had occurred on my stock transmission,. . I was impressed. I wanted to get his feedback on my latest screwup but the fact that I was at full throttle and at 90mph leaves little for the imagination. I probably messed up really good this time. Hopefully ATS will be able to salvage that expensive TC and Valve Body. Probably the rest is toast. Also I'm praying the case is ok so I don't get screwed on my core. One guy jacked up starter also when it went so I'm apprehensive about that too since I'm sure that baby won't be cheap either. I have a whole lists of screwups (life-long list by the way) and this may top the heap on $$$. We'll see.

He used to have a web page you could get to but something happened a while back with other members and he actually left that forum for a while. I could not find anything with his number and actually I think he is in the stages of retiring from the business

Tks. Been there and done that. Nothing yet in way of a response.

I would take that as a hint and not push things by trying to phone him. Post your question publicly on the dieselram.com forum directed to Tim. If he doesn't answer your post then you know where your stand. Don't take it personally, as he went through a lot of abuse over on that board.

Uncalled for IMHO also. Tim holt is very sharp when it comes to dodge trannys. I agree, post your question to Tim and he is always more than willing to help. coobie :D

Give Tim a bit of time to answer. Some times it takes him a day or so to get to the messages. He is semi-retired and was talking about delivering FEMA trailers so he may be on the road. Post your question in the forum so he can see it and answer. He will a lot of times answer those first to provide the info to the most people. Your patience will be rewarded with a very comprehensive answer. ;)

I think there are other good resources for transmission questions.

Try James Northum a. k. a. inarush76. He just did my 48RE. I have atleast 6 other members in my chapter with his transmissions.

So how do I get in touch with him? Tks for info.

You other guys are right on Tim. He is great and is extremely knowledgeable. When I had trouble early on in my bombing I described my situation and he was EXACTLY on target on what he said I would find which is why I want to contact him now. I just wish I would have talked to him about flex plates at the time,... rats!

Send him a PM. He should respond.

Here is a link to the guy that does my transmission work. All they work on is dodges . He has been doing it for years and his dad before him. He has a bracket car that he races and an 05 ctd that is very fast. I am sure he can answer any questions you have . He is doing things with the 48re that the others haven't figured out yet. Increasing line pressures and adding bigger clutch packs. It made a whole second difference in the 1/4 with my truck. His name is Dusty Hawk and the web site is www.htstransmissions.com

Ha, Ha!!!

On the list of 'others haven't figured out yet', is my mom, my dog, and (any unborn children if any).

All trans people know 'the trans lives by correct pressures. ' ( that is a quote from the best builder) .

I don't know that much about the workings of the trans. But I do know what is working for me. I had my trans done at about 19K now I have a little over 30K on it now. In that time I have raced at the Mopar nats done the DHRA series in my region and visited some other tracks in neighboring states for diesel drags. I don't know how many passes down the strip this thing has made all I know is that it is holding up too 20#+ launches and mid 12 passes . So they must be doing something right. The owner and his dad have been building racing Torqueflites for yrs . He drives them and races them. He has a truck running low 13's/12's and a bracket car running in the low 10's and most of the faster trucks in the Grand Rapids Mi area are running an HTS trans.
