That is a a 4x4 tug vehicle used to pull AGE equipment around the flight line.

Most of them are 12Vs geared with like 6:1 axle ratios. The tq to the wheels is unbelieveable.

I used one as my "command" vehicle last desert rotation. Top speed: 28mph at 2900rpm in 3rd gear (auto trans).

Yes, the gov't pays for the vehicles. Any other "them" is probably not taxpayer funded.

roger that.

At least they didn't buy junk on that contract.

They're probably only in the sandbox.

But still, with a few mods and a "functionally creative" bed/box it would make a killer trail rig.

probably wouldn't be too hard to pop wheelies with a manual transmission with the short wheel base :-laf nice hooters too

Good point KennethS, I better volunteer my services and get on one of the C-130's out on the strip right now and sortie out of here with my 3500 dually. "LMAO" With my Super 62, I'll move some stuff.

i didnt see anything like that when i was in the desert damnit! but we do use one of those tugs to tow our F-16s (18000- 35000lbs) and it pulls them as if nothing were there, very maneuverable and just plain fun to drive. . and noticing the coloring on the "bombs", yellow stripe means live blue means for fun only, looks like they are appropriatly colored!! he he :-laf
