I was honored to be asked to field test a new double disc prototype clutch system for Perfection Clutch. Have about 15,000 miles on it now. This thing is stronger than a garlic milkshake. I have no idea of what or how they are going to market the package, so for the moment, I just refer to it as the "Gorilla".
When I went to their factory in South Carolina, the engineers and tech-no heads had my truck up on the rack in R&D for most of the day replacing the entire clutch system including all the hydraulics. Now the clutch pedal feels like a real truck clutch pedal and not something out of a Dodge Neon. As with any prototype, there are a few minor issues that need to be addressed, but for the most part, IMHO, the boys at Perfection have a real winner.
Which leads me to ask this:
I have always thought/known that the weakest link in a Dodge/Cummins drive train is the clutch. Now, in my truck, that no longer being the case... ... .....
1) What is the next weakest link?
2) Do I really want to find out?
3) And what would be the cost of gaining that knowledge?
