Powerful stuff indeed. This is also going on in our public school systems (environmentaly speaking). My kids are constantly bringing home catalogues (sp) with T-shirts and posters they can buy with animal and landscape shots. They are nice and cute, but if you look closely, they are sponsored by such groups as the world wildlife fund, earth first and other such radical groups. They go to the school kids to get them to hound their parents to buy the T-shirts or posters that are way overpriced. Pay $25. 00 for a $4. 00 T-shirt with a bird on it. Total cost is probably around $4. 75, meaning a nice $20. 00+ profit. They then use this money to, in many cases, try to push legislation that may adversly effect their parents livelyhood ( farmers, autoworkers, small business men/women).

The only company I can think of off hand that is very judicous in watching where their philanthropic monies go is ExxonMobile. Their foundation watches it like a Hawk. If it seems the slightest bit iffy, they say no. But I'm sure they give to some that may not be appreciated by many but serve their business purposes. But with the likes of Ted Turner giving 1 BILLION to the U. N. , someone has to counter with donations to opposition organizations.

Back to the original topic: I will never own another fOrd product since a 1985 1 ton hunk of crap. Thing had no power form day one and you couldn't pass a gas station. Lord knows we tried to find the power (460 cid). Exhaust systems, carburators, intake gaskets, cam. You name it we replaced. Finally gave up and sold it to a guy with a wrecker company. He accused us of swapping in a 400 cid with 460 cid sticker

Have to chime in on this one....

I'm going to catch hell for this, but calling Ford anti-American because they support environmental organizations is far fetched --- especially when driving a German diesel truck that doesn't meet the same air-quality standards as cars and most of Ford's LEV fleet. Ford, just like Honda and Toyota, is taking a leadership role in in LEV vehicles and trying to minimize the impact their enviromentally unfriendly products have. I have to chuckle at this entire thread for the same reasons I laugh when someone in a Japanese car drives by with an American flag attached to the antenna.

It's very sad to see Ford taking that kind of direction. After I sold my 97 F350(The biggest piece of SH*# I've EVER owned) I swore I'd never own one again. This kind of corporate direction guarantees that I never will own one again.
