First Bio Diesel Race truck in Baja 1000

Biodiesel board issues winter advisory

bio diesel

what? it's not the biodiesel

it says there was to much glyciren in the oil I was told the the process takes that out of the oil I understand running oil with glyciren if it gets to cold yes it can plug filters. but heat will take care of the problem most of the over the road trucks run heaters in there tanks the problem is the fuel that they mix it with the #2 has some thing in it in the winter blend that makes the biodiesel gell up its not the biodiesel but tell that to the refiners you might as will talk to a brick wall or your 5 year old. THE REFINERS DON'T WANT THIS TO WORK,

THEY WILL NOT HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM, DON'T THINK THEY CARE.

bio diesel mixes will with summer #2

The most problems I have had is when I mix my fuel with winter blend diesel

my fuel is waste vegoil /kero/gasoline/ and two other things if its mixed with summer #2 no problems. what additive is in winter diesel and not in summer diesel

This is one of the things that is preventing the manufacturers from endorsing Biodiesel. It has been a problem from the beginning. NREL tested Biodiesel from most US suppliers. 85% met the ASTM D6751 standard. 18 out of 50 samples were not B20, even though they were supposed to be. 2 samples were B100, one was less than B5. Fuel distributers also don't currently differentiate between ULSD and LSD when blended with Bio. Lastly, only one sample of Biodiesel passed the B100 Rancimat test (test for fuel stability).

... . and the list goes on.

Fuel certification is the next major hurdle for the industry. Expect opponents to make the most of it.
