Happy Fourth Gang;
I have a question about my Issopro pyro probe. I have two probes, one I'm going to mount post- and one I'm gonna mount pre-. Now my question is, should I drill and tapa hole or should I get the little brass thingy welded on to the manifold and screw it into it. The Instructions suggest using the weld method, but they only talk about the post-turbo location. Price shouldn't be a concern because I have to either buy a tap or pay a local shop a few bucks to weld it up. Any advice would be helpfull.
Thanks, Josiah

Unless you have a buddy who will weld for a six pack you're better off drilling and tapping. Last time I bought a 1/4 NPT tap it was $5. 95. Your main concern is getting the the preturbo exaust manifold free of metal chips. Put grease on your drill bit and tap then use a small magnet to sweep out the inside of the manifold.

Better yet, pull the turbo off. It only takes about 15 mins, and is well worth the peace of mind. All it takes is a couple of little metal shavings to destroy a turbo bearing... #ad
