Thermostat Again

Yesterday everything was normal, then today I get no temp driving down the freeway. The Coolant is full (no Leaks) and the heater is just warm.



This will make #4 thermo in 115K. This can't be normal, can it???

Seems weird, I've had t-stats last for 15 years. You can check it with the dropping in hot water method. Sounds like this one is sticking open though. Sure it's not the wobble valve? I can think of no reason why you are going though them like that unless you've just got a case of thermostat voodoo.

I found the problem the rubber around the bottom of the thermostat had came loose and was stuck holding the thermo open.



I have two stats the new up dated one from Dodge and a Stant.



Anyone used a Stant?

The Stant is in and it cycles faster than the older one did before sticking open.



Anyone cut off the rubber on the Dodge/Cummins thermostat?
