Thermostat location

Howdy all!! Going to flush out my coolant system and thought I should change out my thermostat while I'm "in there". Problem is... where is it located? Anyone interested in taking a picture of two of the location and orientation. Thanks everyone. Have a great week!

on the passenger side of the head where the upper hose connects, follow the outlet elbow back, remove the three bolt securing said elbow , thermostat with its seal is right there

I can't help with a pic but, fallow the radiator hose from the top of the radiator to the front pass. corner of the engine. The T-housing is usually black. Hope this helps.

8mm bolts hold it down.

what temp are they 190? with 180 it would run too cool with all the emission stuff???

No emissions stuff, external, on a 06. OEM is 190°, which if it gets cold in winter you want the 190°.

Don't forget to buy a spare drain plug assembly (plug & threaded insert), or two, if you have plastic tanks on your radiator. The one on my radiator failed and I had trouble removing it in order to drain the coolant. They can be found in the HELP! section of most auto parts stores; I don't have the part number off hand, but they are easy to find.

The thermostat should come with a new gasket.

what temp are they 190? with 180 it would run too cool with all the emission stuff???

When I lived in So Calif I ran the 180 stat and liked it. It ran a little cooler in the summer and when pulling a grade with trailer in tow. But really 10 degree? the only reason I did it was I was changing the stat and coolant
