Does anyone have the part # for the Cummins 180* T-stat? I'm at work right now and noticed on the way in mine is sticking open again. :( I wanted to call them and put one on hold so I can pick it up in the morning.

If I call with just the engine id #'s they give me the crap about using a 190* T-stat.

I'll try and do a search maybe I can ind it that way too.

Thanks

They do not make a 190 tstat for the cummins engine. I finally found a 195 that would fit the housing (Napa 532090, Stant makes it) It works fine for heat but interfears with my horton sensor at 205 degrees. First run after it's cold the fan comes on and runs until it cools to 195 then runs great. Am going to replace with another to see if it's just a bad stat.

And if they insist that there is a 190 for the cummins, please let me know the number so that I can get one. Thanks

All Good

Got the T-stat replaced today and boy is that Cummins T-stat ever heavier built then that cheap Mopar replacement.

One of the ears that hold the spring in was completely broke off the Dodge T-stat. :(

We'll see how long this one lasts. :)

WDaniels......

I just received my 190 T-stat from Cummins NW 888. 289. 0900 (ask for Lane Anthony... . TDR member)

The PN is: 3937171

You know, you would think that a person would learn that most information gleaned from the stealer's will get you into trouble. But NOOOOOOOOO, I just keep on trusting them. What a boob! I just talked with Lane at Cummins NW and found out that they did make a 190 degree tstat and he is checking to see if it will fit pre 98. 5's. Thanks to everyone who sent info.

WDaniels....

Sorry I didn't notice the year of your truck, but this thread is in the 24V forum. In any event, Lane will steer you straight. Good luck.

24V-DSL,

I know that I'm not a 24ver but there is good info here for all the cummins engines. I learned something from this forum today. Thanks for the info.

FYI - I just talked to Mid States Cummins looking for a replacement thermostat since mine is acting up. When I gave him the number for the 190 t-stat (3937171), he said that the computer showed that number discontinued and referred him to 3954194, which is the 180 t-stat.

Lane at NW Cummins has informed me that the 190 tstat that goes into the 24vers will not fit my 12v. He has another 190 that will fit into the 12v's. PN# 3954830.

ZMan, call Lane NW Cummins(1-888-289-0900) It sounded like he still had a couple of 190's for the 24v on the shelf. Hope this helps.
